Thoughts on this? Called rather early.

Foxnews projects Democrats will take the house. The House has been the one that has stood firm against more federal gun control legislation the last decade. Looks like Republicans will have a slight gain in the Senate.

From a gun rights perspective this is bad news. The senate gains are moderate Republicans. I can’t say I trust the Senate to stand firm like the more Conservative house did in the past during a tragedy. Trump has been doing what he campaigned on, but he’s willing to work deals, and is a populist at heart, and as we seen he gave in on bump stocks. While much better than any Democrat, the 2a is the one area I don’t have 100% confidence in Trump, he could bend a little. Democrats taking the House is very bad news from a 2a perspective. There goes future tax cuts also!

Welcome Back Pelosi! 2a implications?

Implications?

None at all for free citizens.

Politicians are not the final arbiters of rights.
You're dreaming. If guns were banned how are you going to train? How are you going to zero an optic? Are you willing to go to prison and leave your family unprovided for and unprotected? There are implications.

SCOTUS appointments are approved in the Senate, if the House gives too hard a time I'd expect him to appoint a young and ultra conservative justice given the chance, and I expect that Senate republicans would approve it if the House has been frustrating them on policy.

I do expect that Trump will be impeached within a week of the new House being convened, and then maybe every week or two for as long as he is in office. the Senate won't vote to remove him.

Many have said they will not vote for her, regardless how much money she brings in.
Too much outside money in this election.
Trump can veto any gun or ammo bans.

The crazy Democrats (to use McCaskill's phrase) will have a great chance to make impeachment meaningless.

Remember the 25 or 50 times the Republican House passed bills repealing Obamacare?

The implication of Nancy Pelosi being Speaker of the House it more media coverage of Pelosi bloviating.

This is true but now we have two very tiring years of nothingngetting done and a few million more dem voting illegals. The percentage of 18 to 30 somethings that vote dem is overwhelming. I don't hold much hope for this Once great nation I'm afraid.

You assume people would allow themselves to be arrested. If guns are “banned” it’s time for war.

It’s not as if a whole lot got done in the last two years. Certainly didn’t see any wave of liberty or legislation.

As far as the populace turning Dim, well then the Repugs better get off their asses and start dong their effing jobs; come up with a solution for healthcare, decriminalize MJ, fix the border, put an end to these bogus trade deals, enact national carry reciprocity, etc, etc, and stop whining about abortion. The only thing they did was give themselves and their cronies a pay raise via tax cut that is raising inflation and costing much of the populace more in interest (bank and corporate profit) then they saved on taxes.

Which is the norm, nothing getting done. Business as usual.

While Pelosi will probably be Speaker, the other elephant in the room will be the Committee Chairs ... like Maxine Waters chairing the Finance Committee or even worse Conyers as chair of the House Judiciary Committee ... he’ll try to go so deep into Mueller and such on Trump and then see if he can open up more crap on Kavanuagh along with other “inquisitions” that the media will love and feed to the liberal zombie masses.

The House alone won't get them anywhere. Even if a bill makes it through committee to the floor, getting it to the Senate and POTUS would be unlikely. I see 2 years of obfuscation and investigation but not legislation.

Bingo. We’ll get two years of gridlock, lots of bloviating and no action, and plenty of ridiculous tweets from Trump.

Nothing at least as it stands now. The government divided is a good thing. Keep them fighting each other and not making serious plans

To me, the disturbing part is the closeness of some of these elections. More and more people are voting for socialism/communism. Soon, they will win.

I've been sounding that horn for years. Unless we take back the schools and media it is only a matter of time. Frankly I'm surprised we won in 2016. The enemies of individual liberty took those things decades ago through organized subversion. I don't see any other way to do it. Infiltrate those industries by being liberal on the surface but conservative underneath until critical mass is achieved. Anyone have a better idea?

Just how would something like this get started without the backing of powerful minds and resources? Aside from winning the lottery and enlisting Newt Gingrich I'm at a loss as to what to do.

This country is going to split. My opinion is that it's inevitable, unfortunately.

I hate it but it's happened to every other empire/kingdom..

I agree, but disagree with the unfortunately part. The process will hurt, but the finished products and people will all be better off.

Not everyone would support this, even if the government were to overreach in such a case. If they did, there SHOULD be calls and action taken, to remove this threat from the government.

Would everyone fight? No, we've seen that time and time again from events in history. Only a small portion of the populace would fight.

I am confident my family would be well cared for, such that I am fully willing to fight this fight now, for the betterment of my children's future. Let me bear this burden, not my children.

Not assuming that at all. War is one hell of an implication.
I have little doubt that if something significant were to happen, even in a local venue, such as a political assassination or coupe, that it could very well set in motion a chain of events that will alter the face of this nation. I suspect that something, currently unforeseeable will occur by about 2025.

As far as if the State decides to come for you, does it really matter if it's a national war or not? The question is how would you respond? Do you have sufficient belief in the righteousness of the system to allow it to subjugate you? Do you cling to biological existence hard enough that you would prefer rotting away and getting butt raped by some guy with AIDS?

If the State comes for you, it's still war. Just a personal one. Your life is still over. Some have made up their minds about what they're wiling to do should such a situation arise.

Well at least NC voted for voter ID, in 2016 the Republicans did very well when voter ID was in place, yesterday voter ID wasn’t in place and the dems did much better, I don’t think that’s a Coincidence at all.

Other than planning for tax increases in a couple years and stocking up on components, not much to be done right now. Actually probably time to remind friends that divided government is good, so don’t vote a straight ticket. Probably won’t matter though, the D’s will run on a “tax the rich, support the poor” platform with maybe a little “no tax breaks for big business” thrown in, and they’ll win. IMHO the only hope is that real wages rise over the next 18 months and the R’s can claim a reinvigoration of the middle class.

To @Flashpoint point, in TX every statewide office is held by an R while the state board of education is almost entirely D’s.

The year 2000, Florida, George Bush versus Al Gore; Bush gets 537 more votes than Gore to win the state and the presidency.

Of course, we were guaranteed by the media that demographics made it inevitable that Democrats would win all elections after 2000.

Not to beat the proverbial "Internet Chest" here, but I am often reminded these days of a line from Richard Adams' Watership Down vis-a-vis General Woundwart (not a sympathetic character fwiw):

He fought because he actually felt safer fighting than running.

I'm in favor of gridlock. Both our liberty and our bank accounts are safer when nothing gets done in Washington.

Terry

That’s true. Seems like the R’s represent us better when they have something to fight against.

Do you really believe anything is going to change because the peasants voted for ID yesterday? Ha! That will be in legal battles forever. Plus faking an ID isn't that tough. Especially when an aging poll worker with bad eyes is your backstop.

Since this is in firearms news and views, would it be okay to say IDGAF about the results of this election? Blazer 124gr 9mm hit .17 cents per round today, I am finding all kinds of deals on firearms even on our usually overpriced BST ads, and it's the golden age of internet firearms sales....and WE AINT EVEN hit Black Friday yet ;)

Pelosi, pay lousy, IDGAFF.

and training. And armor. and spare parts. and like minded individuals.

Refining my craft. Speaking of, I need to get some data on my MR762 to get it ready to go to 1000. The SSG is ready to go.

If the Dems are smart, they would spend their time and efforts in rebuilding their party for the 2020 elections and not worry too much about impeachment. We know how that turned out for the Republican when they tried to impeach Clinton. Now I said if they were smart.
For the Republicans, they too need to get their shit together and not fight over the small shit.

Time (demographics) are changing, some for the better and some not. Less get smart about our fights.

They DID impeach Clinton. Just didn't remove his arse and leave us with 'Earth has a Fever' man.
