So I ordered me a new mic for my ICOM 706 MKII. Well I woke this morning and went outside to leave for work and about tripped over my antenna.

I was like wtf mate. Well this is what my wife sent me once the sun came up. I had 2 guy wires to snap. I figure my retarded self didn't get the kinks out and add in some rust plus the winds last night. I will say this I won't be using the bare minimum wire gauge for my next one lol.

If it ain't one thing its a flipping nother. I am pretty sure I want be participating in anything HF for the next few months unless yall got any mast or tower laying around for cheap lol.

If it blew down it was indeed big enough .

Can be bracketed or guyed, whatever you have the space for. If we can guy it, you can go up to 100', but check your city/county zoning first. Usually if it is bracketed to a building, your county may not require any special permits, especially if you keep it around 50'.

Obviously, a 100' guyed tower would be more than $3k....

Thanks for the info. Ill be honest, I probably wont be able to do anything anytime soon for multiple reasons. But you are always the first one I will call when I do get around to getting a tower installed.
