Submersible well pump gave up last night. 4” Flint & Walling that was installed 3 years ago - is that normal? I don’t think so! Any ideas what can accelerate a submersible pump demise?

I am looking at replacing with a Gould pump just because it comes with a 3 year warranty - feedback appreciated.

yeah I would say the torque arrester is the #1 upgrade to sub well pumps that don't have one. Mine beat itself to death in 2004 when we bought our home. 15 years later after the replacement pump and wire (and arrestor) was installed, we still good to go.

Thank you guys.
The wire was inserted in a flexible conduit about 10’ that run alongside the pipe. I examined closely all 150’ of wire and it was perfect so I am guessing the pump said I am done.
Good suggestion on the torque arrester which will be installed this time.
