I know it didn’t take but 2.5 seconds of posting a meme yesterday for me to get a 24 hour ban.

JimB is right.
a VPN is 666.
A vpn is great, never meant to imply otherwise, but if yer gonna tell the site who you are anyway the only reason to use one would be to hide your destination from your isp, and if your going to facebook that’s the least of your issues.

No FaceBook or Twitter or Instagram or any other social media app on my phone.
If you are using their apps, you have to expect they are spying on you (excuse me, "gathering marketing data to make marketing more relevant").
If you aren't paying for it, you are the product.

You don’t need to ever visit Facebook for them to have an almost complete history of you.

Facebook links and tracking are embedded in so many sites (including this one) that you would have a difficult time using the internet without having your IP associated with a profile that is “you”.

To boast on a social media site (CFF) that you don’t use other social media sites doesn’t change the fact that you are tracked by them.

It’s no longer the case where you can simply choose not to use the service to stay out of their databases.

“They” know who you are, where you live, and what type of porn you prefer (or whatever it is you use the internet for).

Can anyone here make a valid case where we should care or be bothered by this?

Why should I give them something valuable for free?

Even if they are only using my data for non-nefarious purposes, they definitely sell it, and no doubt get hacked and lose the data they have to hackers.

I actually don’t have any of the big social network sites in my home network at all. Those DNS addresses do not exist in my network (OpenDNS filtering as well as local ad/tracker blacklisting on my main computer) and any of their little tracker badges/login/share buttons on other pages get excised by UBlock Origin.

Well damn... Guess they'll have to get my info from Google and Amazon... No Facebook here...
