The other night I decided to use a neck sizing die instead of an FL die. When I went to trim them they would not fit inside the WFT. Called WFT and they said that their trimmers are set up for FL dies. This only affects 2 of the 5 trimmers, the 308 and 6.5 CM.
WFT said to send them a few neck size brass and the trimmer and they will open up the trimmer and in a few weeks I would get them back.

This got me thinking that the only time that I should need to full size a case is when I use a case that was shot in a different gun (only have 1 308 and 6.5 rifles). If I trim those cases a little bit shorter after full-length sizing them they should not stretch enough to require them to be trimmed again. AGREE?

I don’t reload rifle yet, but I’ve been preparing, so take this with a grain of salt.

Rifle brass stretches between the casehead and the shoulder. Full length sizing knocks the shoulder back. Even if you have one gun you’ll need to do this every now and again depending upon pressure.

And then you’ll need to trim.
