Going to shoot my wife:
She decided that she wanted to make some fluffy desert thing last night that uses whiskey. Now I have a few different bottles around the house. I get her a bottle of Scotch that was lower $ side, maybe 5 oz left in bottle. I had seen the recipe and new that was enough. I am off doing something else, she comes up and said she needs more. I thought, maybe there was just a little shy of what she needed, so told her to grab one of the bottles of Scotch on the lower shelf. After a few minutes, it is still nagging me that the first bottle was not enough, so I go and check on her.
Get in the kitchen and she has this bowl of lumpy milk soup in front of her and the house smells like a distillery!! The recipe calls for her to whip cream to stiff peaks and fold in 140 ml of whiskey. But because she did not want to find her glasses, she read it as 400 ml of Whiskey! So instead of 4 oz she has put 13.5 oz!!
Well, it got dumped down the drain.
And the extra 9oz came out of a bottle we brought home from Scotland:

So that begs the question...Going to shoot my wife:

That's a case of alcohol abuse if there ever was.Going to shoot my wife:

So that begs the question...
Was it one of those like you gave to @thrillhill that was pretty much the flavor of gasoline mixed with a bit kerosene? Cuz if it was, pouring it down the drain was probably as good as a drain cleaner.
That kinda sucks thenNo it was the good stuff, not the diesel fuel he has grown to love

This afternoon I'll have a bit of 40 Creek Barrel Select. A nice mild Canadian Whiskey.
It tastes ever so slightly of butter, ginger and honey with a hint of vanilla, nutmeg and all-spice. However, it is not at all too sweet. Very smooth and warming all the way down. How does it taste? I used to enjoy Canadian.

It was phenomenally good. Huge change from the bourbons I've been drinking, more on par with a high grade Irish whiskey but the flavor was far better than the Irish whiskey I've had, granted I've never had a single malt like Redbreast.Hmmm.....I saw this particular brand (Defiant) in a movie or TV show in just the last week or so, I didn't know it was real, I thought it was a fake label made for the program ......It'll come to me...in a bit...I think it was "Preacher".
I don't feel like Flying Dog gets as much credit as they should.
Their stuff is pretty decent. My dad sent me this bottle to try.I don't feel like Flying Dog gets as much credit as they should.

Was passing thru Black Mountain today and wheeled in the ABC to see what they had that I can't get in Angier. Score! The Blantons was just sitting there waiting for me to pick it up. The dude said it had come in yesterday and that bottle had lasted till today. The Bowmore was something else I had read about and wanted to try. As the weather gets colder I start gravitating to the Islay malts. Some days are better than others.... Cheers!
Ohhhhh. A triple! How is it?
Hey! It didn't win that blue ribbon for nothing!!
Really good. Pretty smooth drinker for being 11%. It’s their space cakes IPA, that they added some different kinds of hops to it.Ohhhhh. A triple! How is it?
That is a spectacular picture!
Picked up a bottle as a treat to myself after passing a State certification exam. Haven't tried it but will likely tonight.
