What are you drinking?

High end Romanian Vodka, Ice Cold. Sippin Vodka. Smooth.
Had a friend come in from Romania a couple weeks ago, brought a couple bottles in with her. Stuff you can't get here. My Fiancee is from Romania, her Sis in Law is a chemist at a Vodka distillery.
Tomorrow we have a friend coming in from Italy, he is bringing me a couple bottles of "special" Lemonciello. Home-Made stuff from one of his friends families on Capri.

Dude, I tried my best to drink my way through Romania & absolutely love Polinka/Zuicker. Their brandy is lovely, as well. Was also very pleasantly surprised to discover their beer culture. Only spent a week there, but had a wonderful time. Very warm & friendly people.

Sippin' on one of these at the moment-

Found myself in Raleigh(Cameron Village) and remembered there being a pretty sporty ABC there. Found this. Had heard good things and figured this would be good Hurricane prep. Deeply charred wine casks (grooved) matured with the trademark Ardbeg peat. Cheers!

Using dewars for something it wasn’t intended. Lime juice. Sugar. Salt. Dewars. Ginger Ale.

Hurricane drink. Don’t think. [emoji12]

finished one of those a few weeks ago. Pleasantly surprised

I’ve never had any Calumet. I usually drink Woodford whenever I have bourbon. How would y’all say it compares? Is it readily available in NC?

I’d put them on equal footing. No sure about NC. Stopped at a little shop right before market commons in Murray Beach and this is what the guy suggested in lieu of woodford.

That looks absolutely vile... How was it?
Not at all what I expected. It starts so sweet you would think its corn syrup, moved to a weak bourbon taste and ends with a weak cinnamon like tabasco finish. It's better straight with no ice but I tried it both way to see what it would be like. With ice the sweetness is amplified and the heat is diminished. I would consider it to be like Fireball. Good to try once but its not a do over.

Trying to find a “readily available “ Blantons replacement. Is this it? Any ideas?

Last week was a Kick My Butt week. I sold a house ( maybe, got a contract on it) move a business that had been in the same place for 19 years, in the middle of a hurricane, and well, a hurricane.

Been to tired to drink much. hell been to tired to sleep! This week has been...edgy. works not bad, still putting stuff together , but ok. Hurricane only killed my refrigerator, but my niece is still stuck in Wilmington running call as a EMS. Did sleep more than 4 hour last night. So tonight, a big ass bottle of Yellow Tail cab between me and the wife.
Nice soft reds are very mellow for us. It's 8:40 and I may hit the bed by 9:30.

Old age sucks..

How was it?

Tasted good to me. I think the price is higher than it should be to be honest. It didn’t taste only two years old but it also didn’t strike me as a whiskey in this price range.
On the whole I enjoyed it though. I’ll really like drinking it, but I will wait four more years for a six year old than to buy another two year old. That being said, I can only imagine how much better it would be with that much more age on it.

Some days are better than others. Glad I have “friends in low places.” Cheers!

I made a smoothie!
I didnt, until today, have a blender. I bought one.
I put some milk, big scoop of peanut butter, a banana, 3 ice cubes, and a pack of the carnation breakfast drink mix into the blender.
Was awesome.
Only thing is that I need to watch my portions going forward, I made far too much today.
but I'll make one before work tomorrow and Im excited about it!

Not sure I remember the last time I could afford any of that stuff.

And what's wrong with Crown and Sundrop? It matches my muumuu and flip flops.

I am just impressed that a Brit is a bigger redneck than myself. BTW where do you mumu shop? I am in the market for a good house coat.

I make my own out of decorative scented trashbags and bailing twine.

Even when I was back in the land of good beer, I drank bourbon (mostly Jim Beam) and Bud (which was a much better beer in Europe then than it is here and now, nasty corn syrup rubbish). And the only reason for the Bud was to space out the Jim, because heaven help you if you are the first one hammered in that social group. You end up taped to public things, sans pants.

Using Sundrop for a mixer is a strong move. I agree on Bud---try Hamm's. The best budget beer out there hands down.

Not sure where I first heard the idea, but I tried it and I liked it. It was always *****-and coke for anything I didn't drink neat before.

Oddly enough I've become a PBR drinker, mostly because it's a nice basic lager that doesn't taste of Chinese fake-sugar poison like most other cheap beer. I'll have to try the Hamm's though.

If you like PBR you will love Hamms. Do you have any cider reccomendations? I loved drinking cider when in England and Scotland. Also do you know where to get Buckfast locally?

No idea on where to get Buckfast, I'm not a red-nosed Scot begging for pocket change in a bus station while soiling myself ;)

I was never a big cider drinker, because cheap tequila+cider+youth+way too much of both=praying for death and it put me off the stuff.

I will enjoy some Angry Orchard or Stella Artois Cidre now and again. And regular Stella come to that, but my ongoing poverty usually has me find the PBR instead!

I come from a proud line of red nosed Scots that might soil themselves but never beg.
