What are you drinking?

I have learned a great and painful truth tonight. Do NOT mix moonshine and diet Dr. Pepper. Yuck-effing-O!!

Diet Dr. Pepper with anything will pretty much ruin your life. It does NOT taste anything like regular Dr. Pepper. I don't care what the commercials say.

No, but for some reason it and diet Cheerwine are the only two diet soft drinks that I can drink. The after taste from the rest of them makes me gag.

We found out years ago that grape juice would mix with it ok.

I used to mix Diet Cheerwine and 100 proof vodka when I was out of diet tonic. There is so much caffeine in the cheerwine, and I have such a high tolerance for ethanol, that my head would about explode from the combination.

Oban 16 Distiller's Edition (2013 bottling).

Contaminating good shine with anything other than fruit is a sin. That said, the shine-steeped blackberries in my freezer (which won't freeze at -10*F, btw) add a tasty kick to some ginger ale.

Blackheart, I love rum, and I'm cheap.
With Dr. Pepper, cause if I don't mix it I can't make it last.

Old Pulteney 17 year old. Killed the bottle, very sad......

Ok, starting early (ier) today. Got this little 100ml bottle of Glemorgangie 10 yrs old "Original" Scotch that I am triyin today. So far I like it better than all the others I have tried. Pretty smooth, not too sweet....I can drink it.

There are 3 other baby bottles in the box that I will work my way thru.

Slamming mini-bottles, are we. lol

I'll be right over.

Moving along the Scotch trail- Glenmorangie Sherry cask finish Lasanta 12yrs old.
Like it a bit better than the last one... but I did have some Bourbon before it, so my taste buds just may still be happy from that, lol
Still have 2 more 100 ml bottles in the pack to try.

Decaf Tim Horton coffee at the moment. Trying to decide if I want to adulterate it or not...

Go ahead. Be an adulterer.

Went to see my girlfriend Shirley at the Angier ABC today.I was out of both of these. As you can see, that situation has been rectified! You boys(and Gals) have a good weekend!
Cheers!

P.S. I was at work when this was taken. You can see from my monitor how hard I was "working"!

How's that Little Bay? My wife buys me a bottle of Oban every year for our anniversary, with the last two years being the 2013 & 2014 Distillers Edition. GOOD stuff. She knows I love good whisky & bought me a bottle of of "Master of Malt" 30y/o Speyside with "Congratulations!" & my full name on the label when I graduated college a few years ago. Yes, she's a keeper & no, she doesn't have any sisters. lol...

Sipping on a Dewar's Signature Blend (that my MIL bought me as a birthday gift) right now. The "base" is 27 y/o Aberfeldy, then blended with other 14-30 y/o whiskies & re-casked. Very smooth, just the right spice & whiff of honey & vanilla.

The Glen above was opened for some momentous occasions. My daughter got engaged and my granddaughter started walking (eleven months old). It was better than I expected. A spicy zing I didn't expect with a very satisfying finish. Could have kiled the bottle. If you get a shot at tasting this, do it!

A vanilla and coffee milkshake!

Tonight's experiment. Don't know a thing about it other than it's a Highland aged in ximenez and oloroso casks. Any of you guys had it?

Southern Pines Brewing, Mamba Bajamba, sour stout with tart cherries.
Nice light sour with a bit of cherries on the finish

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale...my favorite go to beer since I toured the original brewery in college so long ago. Yep, pretty sure I toured it....a few times...yes...it was a few times....after getting booted the first time.
