What are you drinking?

Wanted something to drink and really was not sure what I wanted. Looked in the cabinet and found this in the back. I bought it over a year and half ago so I figure it is time to crack the bottle and try it.

Delicious!!!! Enjoy!!

Not drinking a lot but often. Maybe a pour or 2 a few times a week. The past couple of days has been a different scotch. Today I wanted to try something that I bought a week or so ago. 1776 Rye. DISCLAIMER: My taste buds are not what they used to be. Went I take a sip of the rye, it has a busting flavor and I can smell it. For the life on me, I can not tell what flavor I am tasting. For a bottle less than $30, I think that I would buy it again.

I just popped the cork on this guy:

My initial impression is that it is not too bad for a bottom shelf. But this is my first pour, so we will see how my palate reacts as we get deeper in the bottle. I tried some neat, and it was sweet and flavorful. I put it over 2 ice cubes and found out it does NOT need that much ice/water to open it up. One cube would have been plenty at this ABV. Still okay, but lesson learned.

First time that I ever it was about 8 years ago and it was much better. Since then I have bought a couple more bottles and they will range from good neat to good with a mixed. For the price, it is a solid buy.

I had a wee bit of Monkey Shoulder while cooking dinner; then this for dessert. But only one.

Nothing until the weekend.

Then I'm going to find me some place that'll mix me something up with some Koloa Coffee rum. Or their coconut rum.

Then it's off on a search for some Ko Hana rum. They have five: Cask ($150), White ($35), Barrel Aged ($45), Cask Strength ($75), and Cacao & Honey (55).

Those are starting prices per bottle. And most of these apparently have more than one varietal.

Unfortunately, Ko Hana Distillers here in Oahu is not currently open for tours and tastings, though they are for rum and merchandise.

Forgot the cane press, how much of that will fit in your carry-on?

Guys and girls I have a problem. It been a couple weeks since I been outback having a cocktail and listening to music. Decided that I wanted some Angels Envy over a cube of ice. I bought some new round ice ball trays. Not know how big the ball were going to be. Well I think I need small balls or a bigger glass. It has taken 3 refills to get a good pour.

"Somebody once told me life is too short to drink cheap liquor"

As I have aged I have come to agree with this statement.

"... but somehow my cheap ass always go after the per dollar alcohol content,"

This was my approach in my younger years.

.

Where did you find it? I've been wanting to try it.
That particular one was in my fridge...lol.

My wife found the six pack at Walmart market in St Pauls.

For some reason I drink very little beer at home and very little liquor at bars and restaurants. Today, Barbara and I went to see Plant Riverside on River Street in Savannah. This is a J.W. Marriott property with maybe 13 bars and 6 restaurants in there. It just opened about 2 months ago and that is only 60% of the project. I can not believe it is in Savannah. Would think South Beach, New York or even Hollywood. At the Electric Moon over looking the Savannah River I found that the Blue Moons goes down very easy. Word to the wise, make sure you have some room on your credit card.

I'm in Hawaii and thinking of sending a bottle of Japanese whisky back to a brother of mine.

Unfortunately, I wrote all the names down in my phone for those I've found here in Oahu and I don't have access to that where I'm at for now.

I remember Hibiki, but not which one.

I have a Jack Daniel's Single Barrel that was dedicated to the Rangers station here in Savannah and have not wanted to crack the bottle. While in Atlanta over the weekend I figured I would buy another bottle that I am going to crack and kill tonight to see if I like it.

That is a whole new level of doing shots...

If you find it BUY IT! Bulleit Single Barrel and enjoy. Then remember I told you to buy it.
