What blade are you carrying today?

My EDC has been a Leatherman Charge titanium for over 10 years. I beat on it pretty hard and it has held up fine. In the past year I bought a new one and gave my 8yo daughter my old one. She gets to carry it when we're hiking or camping. :). The main change is the new one has upgraded blade steel, but honestly the old one was fine for me. Here's a pic of the new one at my weekend job. I use the pliers and the non-serrated blade the most. This new model has a hook on the serrated blade that I've found I use all the time for cutting zip ties, opening plastic clamshell packages, and opening the tape on boxes where I'm worried about cutting the contents. Also use the screwdrivers a lot, and then the bottle opener and file and wood saw randomly.

Kershaw Leek

of all the pocket knives I've ever carried my leek is my favorite

today I'm carrying a hand made one made by a Brazilian friend. It's like toting a leaf spring around. :)

Kershaw Scallion...It's been a great knife and the perfect size for me. I also lucked out and got a pair of them off ebay for $20 so now I've got two spares. It may not be the best knife in the world but I'm far from easy on it and it's lived up to the abuse for the past at least 3 years.

You used to hang out at FTF, yes?

Yes I did but it's been years since I've been over there. I'm guessing you did as well?

Yes, haven't been in years myself. JCA1. Good to see your name again.

One has been in my pocket every day for over two years and will either go with me to the grave or be given to my daughter. The other was bought because it was listed in the Hot Deal thread at the old site and I said, why not?

I don't go anywhere without these...

Benchmade Adamas and LM Blast.

Just received this Victorinox Pioneer in the mail.
I'm carrying it today to see what I think of it.
I'll ditch the paracord pull, probably replace with a piece of leather.

These are very much the same as the Soldier model, though these dont have dated blades and have thinner aluminum scales than the Soldier model

I carry a Kershaw Leek, Kershaw Scallion or CRKT M21 or M16 depending on the day.

Spyderco Delica 4. Almost always with me. I buy and try others, but always come back to this one.

Same here. Carrying mine right now.

SOG Flash II, with a SOG Micron Tanto on my keychain.

I was reading about this one on pistol-forum. How long have you had it and do you like it?

My primary EDC for the past two years has been a Benchmade Osborne 940 and and an old Buck folder. The Buck folder I've had going on 30 years, since I was in grade school.

My newest EDC addition is an LT Wright Patriot. I just got the custom horizontal belt sheath from chiefjason this week and it is AWESOME!!

Either CRKT K.I.S.S. which I have had so long I forget where and when I got it, or Pohl Force Bravo 2

I have had it for 3 or 4 years, if I recall correctly. I like it. It seems to be well made, the assisted opening function works well, and I like the overall design. I think I would have preferred the plain blade instead of the partially serrated one, though.

Thanks for the response. Might try picking one up.

Very nice. My 940 is laying in a saddleback valet tray at the moment also.

Picked up this customized Wingman recently online (along with the black Pioneer I posted earlier)

The guy did an acid etch that he called a 'leaf pattern'
I dont know, but I like it.

I will say, as I did over on CSC, the Leatherman Wingman is one of the best tools that they've ever created, in my opinion.

First is the low entry price - when they first came out you could pick one up for about 20-25 new. NOW you can find them used for 10 - 15 bucks.
This one, for example, WITH the black ALOX pioneer (aluminum scales vs standard plastic) was 30 shipped.
So under 20 bucks for an American made multitool.
Awesome.

Then we get to the fact it is a OHO blade (one hand opening), very handy as that is the most commonly used tool on a multitool.
The Wingman isnt loaded down with a ton of tools, but it has all the right ones and even one that no other LM has other than its sister tool, the Sidekick - clamshell opener.
Its a tool designed to open those pesky plastic packages that so much comes in these days. Its very simple blade/hook thing that is safe to use, dont have to worry about getting stitches if your hand slips or something.

This, along with the SK, both have the sping-loaded pliers, which want to open up the pliers, not a bad thing when working.

If you are thinking about a multitool purchase I would first point you in the direction of LM, great customer service and made in America! I had a Surge that I took to their store when in Portland, the guy handled it for a second, saw that the handles were a bit loose and grabbed another Surge and apologized for the inconvenience.
But then I'd ask what you were looking for, and, more than likely, point you towards a Wingman to get your feet wet in this world.
From there you can look into the other, similar tools

Some might not like this look, but I like it, adds character!

benchmade griptillain - I even got a lil fruitcake leftover on the blade . Like flash I have several different daily carries but this one always ends up in my pocket.

Why are you eating the fruitcake!? You do know that there is only one fruitcake in the world and everyone just passes it around! I've got a couple of Benchmade Griptillians laying around. They're left over from a couple deployments. Good knives.

If it gets passed to my house - its promptly gets soaked in Burbon and enjoyed!!!!!

I've pretty much abandoned the Benchmade Adamas while at work. I use the Mutt way to much and carrying both gets heavy. I still carry the Adamas while not at work. Now the mini pry at is a custom job made by a member here that I now can't go to work without. I've used it as a prybar, hammer, bottle opener, gasket scrapper. I plan on doing a full write up on it and then y'all can try to convince him to make and sell them.

I'd be interested in a mini pry!
