What did I catch?

Got a mess of these juvenile somethings from the beach in the Fl panhandle today, anyone know what they are?

Fishing was busy but not productive. 2 pomps, a mess of these and a mess of lady fish, put everything back, kids had fun and I didn't have to clean anything.

common jack...Their like the sunfish of the ocean.

Looks like a blue runner. Yes it's in the jack family.
Edible. I actually like them, but then I'll eat anything.

That's what I decided. Internet said that they were edible if you bleed them, but not worth the effort for me. Did fail to land a few fish on this trip, most just spit the hook, but two broke/cut the 65lb braid...sure wanted to know what I'd hooked those times. Going back down for pomps and reds in the fall.

I've been down in Destin for Reds the past 2 yr, on the company dime to boot. It's a lot of fun for someone who is otherwise a bass guy!!
