Cleaned the garage up a tad. Put up the Christmas tree finally. Replanted a tree [emoji268].

Glad you finally found us over here! Yes aftermarket head from Engnbldr with his 261C cam.

Thanks!

I had an egnbldr head with oversized SS valves on my 86’. I started having similar issues shortly after install. Ends up they didn’t cut the valve seats at the same angle as the valves. I was on a trip West with it and ended up having to swap heads in a parking lot in Grand Junction, Colorado. Had probably 5k miles on the head when I replaced it. Hopefully you’re not having the same issue.

Going to send you a PM. I've been through your '86 build your build is still inspiration to mine.

This weekend I organized all my tools replaced a few missing ones to complete sets of stuff.

I have decided to do a full rewire on my 87 YJ (never attempted anything like this b4) cannot see my self giving someone that amount of money, to do it

I foresee a ton of cussing and pissedoffness, and beer

But gotta learn should be fun.

Since my motor is apart waiting on diagnosis, I dropped and resealed my rear differential.

Need to refill fluid and bleed the brakes to button it back up.

I just got home about 15 minutes ago from dogsitting the past 8 days at my parent's.
Good to be home.

Took a trip to Home Depot today...100 bucks later and Ive got some stuff to keep me busy in the garage and the yard a while
Got 1/2" plywood and 3/4" birch ply for my top on the workbench.
American Classic" or something like that stain (not the brand, but the color) for the top birch
Drillbit so I can put the adjustable feet on the workbench

Then weed and grass killer so I can start killing my yard to replant in a month or so, my yard, as it is, doesnt bring me joy - too many weeds and just never looked good to me

Also got some more things to work on some plants Im starting to plant (in the house to start)

Im excited to be home. Im excited to get back out to the garage and yard. In a bit. After I relax and finish Escape from LA.

Installed a new fuse block in a 63 Cadillac model 62 convertible today and repaired some crispy wiring that caused it to burn up.

Serviced my mother's 1994 Cub Cadet. They don't make them like that one anymore.

Purged. Sorted. Cleaned.

Anyone need some Toyota wheels (6x5.5) and free duratracs?! [emoji12]

Just in case you are not aware Gm has redesigned cam bearings avalible to help correct those issues.
I hope I got the redesigned ones! They're about 1/8" wider, the ones on the ends were a workout to install.
The rest of the engine looks like it's got only 25K miles on it.

Well the 4runner's 22re is still torn down waiting on machine shop.

I was able to get my extended brake lines installed and brake system bled. I swapped in my Trutrac differential in place of the open front. And inner axle seals replaced.

I pulled the engine transmission out of the race car as a last resort trying to troubleshoot shifting issues. Im running a Tilton twin disk clutch and it doesn't want to release fully when hot. Ive been on the phone with Tilton and so far we can not find ANY reason this would be happening. The next race is a couple of weeks from now at VIR so back together she goes this weekend.

I really hate to do it but I may split open the transmission case while it is out just to make sure something did't fail there but everything was new and only 1 race weekend so far.

Does manual yard work count? This is what I've been doing the past 5 days.

Knocked the dust off my beat to shit rock magnet today.
It started life as a Jeep yj with a 4.0 six banger. Then things changed.
It is truly transracial now.
Ls1/th350/Dana 300 w/4.1 gears.
Dodge D60 front axle, 5.13 gears, Detroit locker, chromo shafts and Yukon superjoints.
Dodge D70 rear axle, same gears and locker.
ORI struts, 42" Iroks, full cage and some serious tunes also.
I only have 2 hobbies, shooting and wheeling.
About time to go wheeling again and let the Ls sing!

Last weekend, did a top end swap on the old cr125, cleaned carbs on the banshee and replaced the rear axles of the grizzly... pulled the engine from my kids yfz450 to find disaster.
Hoping to get it torn down and 75% overhauled while waiting on top end parts... splitting cases and doing bottom end "hopefully" today.

One of these days, the kids will not tear something up long enough that I can address the rear suspension of my goat

My dad always told me, "If you break it, you fix it" I had some help from him fixing when I was younger, but it quickly made me think twice about taking care of stuff.

I installed a trailer hitch on my wife's 2500HD finally. It's set up for gooseneck trailers and we never used it for bumper pull stuff. I got rid of my 1500 and got a family sedan so this was needed so we can pull around my little trailer with mower or 4 wheelers.

Finished up my landscaping (updated pic a few posts back) then USPS dropped off my new Aero Precision parts.

After handling the Q Honeybadger at Tarheel State, I decided I needed to go from a 9" to 7" handguard.
Before w/ 9" handguard and Octane9
image.jpeg

After w/ 7" Atlas-S handguard and Griffin Paladin. I can actually shoot it without the can now if I want.

Cat back (Borla) install on a 2011 Sierra 1500. Been sitting in the box in the shop for months! Didn’t take long and sounds pretty good!

That stock muffler is a pig!!!

Worked on my fathers golf cart charger. Installed a new circuit board but there's something else going on. I can plug it into the wall before I plug it into the cart and it stays off like it's suppose to. I then plug it into the cart and it comes on and charges. If I then unplug it from cart it's suppose to turn back of but it doesn't. I think one of the diodes is leaking and back feeding the board. I've got to do some more investigating.

switched back to what VW recommends for 10K mike OCIs, that golden elixer made in Germany by Elves only for Castrol. Mobil 1 was a bust in the Passat leading to losing about a quart over this past 5K miles.

Mounted 2 new tires on my Zero Turn. A lot easier than I expected...

Using a quart of oil in 5k is not unusual for just about any motor. Heck a Subaru will do that in 2500 miles and they consider that to be exceptable for a new engine, I do not but Subaru does.

this engine didn't use a drop when running the factory fill Castrol...only until I switched to Mobil 1 Euro...

cleaned.
moved my workbench out there.
organized a large bowl full of random hardware.
organized my storage bins full of hardware by size.
gassed up the two buells in the garage (one isnt in there), fired one up, other on a charger, and fueled up the lawnmower.
and, while not "in the garage," I also finished spraying grass and weed killer in the front and sides of my yard, in hopes of seeding in two weeks.

Installed a hot water heater. I really can't complain as I got 19 years out of the Rheem that came with the house. Went up to a 50 gallon though from a 40! Hopefully, this one will last a long time too.
