Oil change (and I found out that two of the quarts of 5w20 on the shelf were actually 5w30, so the car will be running 5w25 for the next few thousand miles), after which I cleaned the garage (with a leaf blower).

Replaced the grill and driving lights on my 2005 4x4 Yukon.
Damn deer.

if you look up actual oil weights at 100 C then you'll see there's not much difference in multiviscosity oils between 5/10W30 and everything else until you get to a full synthetic OW40 like the Euro cars use.
Those first numbers are purely marketing 'winter' grades that mean more to EPA guidelines than anything.

I run a '30' weight in every honda that ask for 0W20 because that crap just pours too thin for my tastes. MPG stays the same. Engine wear is probably the same or less from the Blackstone reports I've seen online.

It's a Toyota Corolla that generally gets whatever oil is on special when it's time for a change. I took it to Sears for an oil change once (never again) just because I had a Groupon coupon for an oil change. They refused to honor the coupon price because they said Toyota required synthetic oil. Never mind the fact that the manual and the oil filler cap say that 5w20 was okay, and the car did very well with 5w20 dinosaur oil at 5,000 mile oil change intervals. Or the fact that it's my damn car and my decision. So I left and came back in my old Dodge Stratus with 150,000 miles on it, and let them change its oil instead.

Yesterday I put a B&W gooseneck hitch in my f250. Bought it on CL for $250 bought new bolts for $25 and wire wheeled it painted it for like $10. So I saved myself like $200.

Happened in my driveway.....

DirtySCAPE got a new CV axle (passenger side), new calipers, new brake hoses, new rotors, new pads.

Word to the wise....Don't sell your vehicle to a family member; you'll have to keep working on it!! LOL

Oh, and I'll say NAPA sucks!!!!!
I had to replace the passenger side CV axle after I bought DirtySCAPE. I bought it at NAPA. Lifetime warranty..yeah right. You have to have your receipt. Who keeps up with a 5 year old receipt??!!! So, I went to Advance auto for this CV axle... cause they keep everything in their computer like a normal company!
Rant off....

Reinstalled engine/transmission into race car. I still need to put lube in transmission, bleed all hydraulics, install exhaust, and change brake pads. If all goes well it will be ready for next race which is next weekend at VIR.

any updated pictures of the integra?

Honed the cylinders, cleaned gaskets off, installed cam, crank & rod bearings then pistons in the 5.3L for the paperweight Tahoe that's gotta go.

Worked on my fathers golf cart charger. Installed a new circuit board but there's something else going on. I can plug it into the wall before I plug it into the cart and it stays off like it's suppose to. I then plug it into the cart and it comes on and charges. If I then unplug it from cart it's suppose to turn back of but it doesn't. I think one of the diodes is leaking and back feeding the board. I've got to do some more investigating.
Find someone with a 'Handyman' https://fsip.wordpress.com/2014/12/09/troubleshooting-scr-panels-made-easy/ it's a breeze to test SCR's diodes & transistors. I have one but Roxboro's a long drive.

I’ll get some up in the next day or so. It’s back to the garage to bleed the clutch and adjust pedal height and clutch stop since I put a bigger master cylinder, bleed the brakes, install new pads and clean it up.

Pulled the rocker assemblies, breathers, pushrods, lifters, cam plate & oil pump out. Replaced the inner cam bearings with higher quality roller bearings. Next up are fresh outer cam bearings, a mild set of cams & new lifters.

I dont know if this counts as the garage, but I did a lot of yardwork today...using things kept in the garage ha
-finished mowing. started Tuesday night but it got too dark before I could finish.
-raked a lot of the yard trimmings
-took a spade and dug up some crabgrass (I think that's what its called). This took a lot of time as I then tried to get as much dirt off of the soil so the hole/dip in the ground wouldnt be as bad. Also careful with the worms. I want worms. I even transported a bunch back to my compost pile.
-bought lime. started spreading lime in the front and sides of the yard. Getting ready to plant some grass in a week/10 days.

Also, started fitting my shotgun in my new plano case

In retrospect, I would do it a little different to space out the two pieces more, it gets a little flimsy in one place in particular, but it shouldnt really matter in the carrying of the case.

I did this on the new workbench I made Saturday night. Yeah, it was a little high for this particular job, having to really be over the case to mark the foam etc.

But I really like the pick and pluck, so easy!

Ordered new rings and head for my 22re. The rebuild is getting a rebuild after shotty parts.

Engnbldr stock head had all valves started to burn in less than 7k miles. Rings never seated completely burning oil.

While new to my garage, its not exactly new to me.
Ive spent a lot of time on this machine, as it was my father's drill press for years. Dont know how long he had it for, but he dropped it off at the house today.
Im stoked.

The regulator in my Campbel Hausfeld compressor circa 1977 failed,
replaced it with a Milton #1114 and changed the oil.

Got my Honda that has been sitting for almost 2 years back running with new top end gaskets.

Gotta fix a surging idle on my other Honda, pretty sure it has an air leak on the throttle body gasket. So I am gonna do that and go ahead and for a valve cover gasket as well

Installed running boards on my sons Silverado. Resinstalled Yakima roof rack. One of the previous owners installed the clamps UNDER the weather stripping. Was driving down the road the other day and noticed water dripping in while it was raining..

My parking garage is dry again. Some folks plugged up old nail holes and aluminized the top and sides. 18X72 and high and dry again. A great place to feed folks in inclimate weather....like maybe in October. That's what I did in the garage.....watched.....

Lucky you :)
Thanks, Yeah, I've been blessed when it comes to outbuildings and an understanding wife.
Here's the main shop with the addition built on this side. On the other side is the woodworking/reloading shop.
Last year she bought me a 10K two post lift I still need to install. Projects, projects, projects.....

Wow, Im jealous!

Also, yesterday I placed my first order with McMaster Carr for some crush washers and Orings for an oil change for my watercooled bikes.
A lot cheaper than the dealership, but, dang, the smallest quantity I could order was 10, 10, and FIFTY lol

Why not just go to NAPA and get some 14mm crush washers? Assuming that your bikes are Japanese.

They arent Japanese.
I probably could have, but without having one in hand, I would only have to go on measurements found online. Its fine, they are very cheap and I'll have enough to last me forever. I have two of these bikes (two matching Buells...and then another, aircooled, buell), so they'll be used at some point. Hopefully.

I've got an '06 Buell Ulysses. Very nice bike. Due to a tragic motorcycle accident my niece was killed in, I've promised my wife I wouldn't ride again. But it looks good sittin' in the garage. I typically only rode it in benefit rides in a large group.

Sorry for your nieces death. If a family member dies in a car crash, will you have to give up your car too?

My wife and her niece were VERY close. Her death devastated her. You have to admit that you are much more exposed while riding. It was a promise I made to my wife after she collapsed in my arms after hearing of Mary's death. I keep my promises. Lets hope I never have to make that decision about giving up my car.

I added hammock mounting points to one corner of my shop to test out various setups. Also a gratuitous shot of my Buell XB12S.1523805326732-1180790989.jpg 1523805607110934070373.jpg

Edit; the signs in the background were decommissioned, got them when I worked for a highway construction company many moons ago.

Well I sanded off some of my fingernail.
OUCH.

I was playing with the sander, trying to put a curved bevel on an edge...like I said, just playing around. Well it bit and my finger touched for a split second.
In the center of the nail it got real pink and sort of stings.

I think I was more scared than hurt. Actually, I know Im more scared than hurt.
One of my fears is stuff happening to my eyes, teeth, and...NAILS.
