    Impulse buy alert!

I've been having fun trying to learn to weld and thought I'd get me my own setup. I searched a few threads here and went to the Welding Supplies From IOC website and bought a few things.

I got the Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP for my welder. I'll keep my little harbor freight flux core set up for gasless and go MIG on the 210 MP. I was borrowing my boss's Miller multimatic welder but didn't feel comfortable changing anything on it. His assist tank wasn't on site and wasn't going to get there anytime soon and I didn't want to pull his spool of wire and put in the flux core stuff that I have, so I was stuck using it as a stick welder.

I also ordered a TD Cutmaster 40 plasma cutter. I've been using the 1000w co2 laser at work for my pieces but it takes a lot of time to set up the cut files/drawings/gcode/materials with it. I'll be able to cut down our large "drops" stack of sheet steel into more usable pieces and finally get rid of some of that scrap.

A 718 Cayman with an APR tune would sure be fun around here! Up at Lake Lure, back roads in Green Hill, and up and down the hill by Cleghorn. Woot!

You will absolutely love that welder. As well as the plasma cutter. Be sure it has pilot arc. The one without is a PITA I have the cut50 and love it.

Buy alot of spare consumables for the cutter.

That’s my thought which makes keeping the vette pretty appealing vs switching to the hellcat. Might be better and wait another year to pick up a used Porsche instead.

Unplugged a washer fluid sensor so the DIC would give somewhat useful information again.

Replaced the front brake pads on the KLR650 and was reminded why I need a JIS screwdriver after stripping a master cylinder cover screw. Luckily I was able to drill the screw and remove it with an extractor, a couple JIS #2 bits are on the way to my local Cycle Gear this week.

Today did rear rotors and pads, oil change and a tire rotation on my Ranger. First consumables besides oil and filter she has needed!

Should have gotten pads for the front, back was fine:oops:. Oh well. I'll get the front at the big 100k service:cool:

While I am thankful to have a flatish asphalt driveway. Every time I have to jack the whole truck up I miss having access to a lift..... First world problems:rolleyes:

There’s a white one that I see riding around town. I see it at the Credit Union across from the ABC store in Rutherfordton a lot. It’s sharp!

I’d like to get a 718 GTS or an AWD 991.2 when our property sells and I have a little more cash to play with. We’ll see what my wife says. Lol.

The one I linked is a 718 gts. It’s slower than my car but I don’t care. It’s freaking amazing looking!

Floor looks killer @amnesia but man I don't envy you when a small spring/detent/screw ect hits the floor and rolls. My neighbors would hear me cussing for miles lol.

    The Cruze, again, yesterday...

Changed out the engineering screw up of an intake manifold from GM. Bought a Dorman replacement designed to fix the cheap rubber check valve that shrinks, gets dislodged and consumed by the engine. This causes a vacuum leak, intermittent CEL, oil leaks (block over pressurized from turbo), and drivability issues.

Took the old off, confirmed where the missing piece was. Swapped the sensor that was underneath, fuel rail and injectors then bolted the new intake on. Proceed to put the others sensors on the top. One, two, three? Where does the 3rd one go? Yup, wrong part!

Thought about the pcv system. It's a turbo and the missing check valve prevents the pressurized intake from backfeeding into the block. There is still a second pcv valve up near the filter box that works when the intake is pressurized. Decided to plug the missing piece mount hole with a screw, rubber washer and rtv. This is a temporary fix until I get the correct part.

Assembled and test drove. Runs perfect now. I just might keep it till the next problem pops up.

Started pressure washing the driveway. The electric one I had was junk so I upgraded. It took off a lot of built up dirt.

He did an express detail on the vette. I'll be honest with you $125 for him to make it look like that. It's not even worth my time to attempt to do it at this point. I'll keep some quick/speed detail spray and microfiber clothes but the rest of the outside car cleaning stuff I'll probably sell.

Nice setup. I have a dust deputy but it's like having two vacuums on the hose and moving it around is a pain in the butt. Need a better way to attach it.
