What Did You Do In The Garage Today?

He did an express detail on the vette. I'll be honest with you $125 for him to make it look like that. It's not even worth my time to attempt to do it at this point. I'll keep some quick/speed detail spray and microfiber clothes but the rest of the outside car cleaning stuff I'll probably sell.

He does an amazing job. The amount of gloss he gets on the car is stunning.

How did the Surface Maxx pressure washer attachment do on your driveway? I was looking at those at Lowes but didn't know how well it worked. The cheaper plastic ones are ok but not great.

switched my mower from bagger to a mulch setup, did the front and a reasonable chunk of the back
changed my wife's oil and confirmed just how MUCH i hate oil filters that screw in from the bottom. one of these days i'll find a way to not make a mess with them.
then i saw my oil catch pan/can split at the seam and make a small mess... fortunately i keep cardboard boxes in the garage for just that reason.

redeemed the afternoon by firing 50rds through a new-to-me 22 pistol.

I have one of the cheaper plastic ones I got from amazon and it sucked. The surface maxx attachment was hard to stomach at $150 but it absolutely saved me in aggravation and in time.

Changing oil in stump grinder this afternoon, When storm came up real quick then lighting strike close enough to knock out ALL my led shop lights:( then I think I peed a little too!

None yet. I've got everything in, but made no progress on the RV. I really should get off my ass and work on it right now but it was a busy day and my back is still weak after hurting it a couple weeks back...

Just got back from yellowstone, so the next garage task will be an oil change on the expedition.

And might i say it really sucked not having my powerstroke towing in these mountains.

Started working on the RV today. Got the broken plumbing cut out and started rebuilding the new dump system. Missing a few parts to make it happen. Gonna take some fabrication to make everything fit back together. Got the transmission crossmember untwisted and replaced the mount bushing. Everything is so bent up and so much was destroyed it's hard to tell how it all went together originally...

Cleaned up the new truck i bought last Friday. 2019 Nissan Titan XD 4x4 w/ 5.0 Cummins

Gonna haul our 5th wheel all over the west in about 3 weeks.

Caster bushings fixed it right up, steering feels nice. Forgot what a straight axle truck rode like.

Balancers work great too. Those 20s are a little chopped up, not sure how old they are (KO2s haven't been out too long), but they rode nice and smooth.

TIPM replaced, half way done. Next will be rear rotors, brakes and speed sensors, bleed the whole thing, then replace abs control module.

Replaced the front tire on the motorcycle. Detailed the S&W 36, lots of old crud inside it.

Sold my 2017 F250 Platinum 4wd Diesel and bought a pos 01 7.3 f350 2wd dually.....well it’s not really a pos but in comparison......(Yes I’m being spiteful). It’s only got 140k so there plenty of life left in the drivetrain. Serviced the engine with 2 quarts of HotShot secrets Stiction eliminator and 13 was of Schaeffer’s 9000 synthetic oil. Antifreeze was dark so I flushed it with 2 quarts of motor craft vc9 flush and dumped the system about 5 times till it drained crystal clear. Left water in it for the drive home and to work tmw to see if any oil or fuel floats to the top. (Leaking injector cups/oil cooler o-rings) changed the fuel filter and ran out of time for the night. Much more to come as it seems I traded a truck payment for a repair payment....

Finished up the rear this evening. Having to hard rest the TIPM again apparently. Same issue popped up after sitting overnight.

If you are going under the valve cover might as well replace the gasket/wiring harness.

Pre-emissions diesels sell like hotcakes, and are big targets for thieves.

Going to have a ravelco installed on mine

I’ll take a look at them...seen plenty in the 400k range that didn’t leak. Usually only replace them when the glowplug terminals burn up on the 4 connectors. We stock all that. Went ahead and grabbed an ebpv delete (pedestal and outlet) along with new up-pipes because I hear a leak. Drivers manifold has a gasket so I doubt it’s there. The passenger side is still the factory machine fit seal so mayyyyyybe....uhg. The absolute only thing I like about the truck is how it rides. First dually in all my years. And no solid axle beating me to death up front. Wonder if the boss would notice our 1400hp drag trucks 7.3 motor missing......hmmmm

I had to do the up pipes on a 7.3 I had. I went through international amd they had an updated version similar to the bellowed that the 6.0 has.
It was the up pipes and baby's butt and seems like something else and was just like $20 more for that kit

Great older truck. It happens. Any plans for it or just a driver

good choice. That’s what we use but not international branded. Another 7.3 trick is using 6.0 breather seals on the 7.3’s “doghouse” breather. Never see the drivers side covered in oil again!

Just tackling the neglect, and probably a 6.0 headlight swap. These stock lights are the dimmest I can remember having.

05+ housing will make a WORLD of difference. They also focus HID bulbs surprisingly well with very little scatter if you want to go that route.

yesterday I finally put together some wood.
wife wanted the mailbox moved. and not on the wobbly post that it's on. And also something to hold a street number sign.
I've been picking at it a little bit at a time. bought a treated 12' 4"x4", 6 foot for the post, 3 2ft segments. 1 segment to hold the mailbox with a slot to secure the street number sign at the top. another segment to secure the sign at the bottom.
This would have been a quick and easy job if I had a table saw... but all i have is battery operated circular saw to do the work...
The last segment will probably be cut to act as diagonal supports. I want to do at least one on the back so that I can put a gadsden and gonzales flags on it :)
I've had a 50lb bag of concrete sitting in my trunk for a while... it will be nice to finally get it all in the ground and check this one off my list soon. Just gotta dig, do the diagonals, and move the mailbox. and probably also dado a slot in the horizontal portion to put in a perpendicular support for the mailbox.... almost done. almost.

Favorite thing about older diesels is they sound like diesels, i get told all the time "i cant hear you over your truck" lol
Or if you try to order at a drive through...........

Pull up.
Wait
Wait
Can i have your order please
Sighs. Turns off truck. Passengers always ask why like they can't hear whats going on.
