What Did You Do In The Garage Today?

Finished building this dust collector setup. I had something similar before but this setup using PVC legs set into the OEM caster feet is really slick. Minus the vacuum it ended up costing me just shy of $100, $50 for the dustopper itself, more than I expected but well worth not clogging up my filter with saw dust constantly.

Still need to grab a hole saw and drill holes in the plywood top for the accessories.

I need to do something like this!
Do you know the size and length of the fittings & pipes!

Over the weekend... New shocks and struts in the RV. Bilsteins all the way around... Welded up the new exhaust system for the RV generator and mounted it. Installed an air horn. Replaced the old plastic window track slides with custom made brass ones...

Pretty sure they shouldn't just collapse like that...

Thanks! I’ve a Rigid and the dust cyclone already.
Just FYI the rigid models can be a little different. I began doing my cuts based on the video and the bucket was sitting way too high. I think I took off like 4-5”. So measure your vacuum and mock it up before cutting. My $0.02

So Mack doesn’t use pipe thread on their air tanks. Why would they it’s pretty universal has worked for a century and readily available. They also don’t keep much of it in stock at their stores so when one went bad improvise. 24F851CA-34CF-43BE-96BE-9D10B6BC14D6.jpeg
The line coming out of the tank is 5/8, I had a 3/4 fitting that would fit in the tank. Installed that with a small section of line then this beast I built in a random NAPA with what they had in a disorganized bin. 3/4 push to connect in to a reducer to a female female connector to a 5/8 push to connect. Holds air and the truck is back running.

I don't turn many wrenches anymore. But I am going to pay the man for putting gears in my Grand Marquis today.

new windshield getting installed as i type. with a horizontal crack already full across and a vertical looking to make its way as soon as the weather cooled, guess it was time.

This past sunday

Wheel bearing on my brothers wifes Exploder(she decided to take a curb head on at 45mph while texting) bent the strut. Wheel bearing took time to go bad moaning.

Oil change, tire rotation, and spark plugs on my civic si. Now she likes to scream again while on her way to 8500 rpm

Hung three 4’ led lights today that I bought on black friday special for $12 a piece. Also got rid of a bunch of junk and plan on getting more out tomorrow.

Saturday replaced the Soffit and Fascia on the south side of the Garage, does that count?

Picked up an arbor press at an estate sale, been looking for one for a few years. It's in pretty good shape, 100% working order. Not sure if I want to repaint it or not. I'm not a fan of tool restoration, I'm more of a conservation / preservation guy. I like the been there / done the job look especially if it has some age on it.

1-1/2 is the model number, it's a 3/4 ton.

Stripped the bars off the new to me Road Glide Thursday after I received all the parts needed to swap to some taller ones. I was half way thru with the job when I discovered the new ones will not work for my scoot. I ordered the correct ones yesterday hoping to get them early in the week to finish up. Supposed to ride it to the beach next weekend.

Oh boy. I bought some tires for my Honda Foreman and FedEx dropped them off today. I ran over to Harbor Freight and got one of their little micro tire changer thingies for about $50. I wanted to change them out myself. Wrong move! I couldn't get the bead to break on my first tire and ended up bending the rim. FML. So I hammered it straight and put air back in it and promptly went inside and ordered a set of aluminum wheels. $350 delivered.

I should have just paid the $40 to the tire guys. :D

I'm rebuilding a little benchtop Delta drill during some downtime at work. I have it all busted apart now and have my first coat of enamel paint on the larger parts. I have a 1.5 HP 3 phase motor and VFD ordered to replace the 1/3 hp motor that was on it. I need to find a replacement JT33 chuck for it and get that ordered. I have a feeling the enamel is going to take a long time to cure. I'll let it sit while I figure out the mounting brackets for the motor and VFD box. I'll try to get some pictures as I progress. I totally forgot to get a before picture. Doh!

Put two new speakers in the road glide today. One of the factory units was blown so I found a decent cheap replacement set. Pretty easy install.

Which headlights did you use? I'm looking to replace my replacements.

Pretty sure I ordered them from LMC. They were made in Taiwan I believe. Hell, they sat in my shop for 2 years before I got around to it. That 96 is a truck I bought my son to drive in high school. Now it’s just a hunting truck or whatever. Gonna redo it one day and give it back to him. I’m happy with the results, it is a tedious job but not awful.

I've seen a lot of weird things, this was a first. Busted a drum free on a truck that'd sat over the weekend.
Seems this little guy decided it'd make a good nest site at some point.
I cannot imagine the pain of being inside a drum being rung with a ten pound hammer.

After the first hit he probably never knew Which way was up.

I'm trying to figure out how he got in there.

So this has caused me to be boarding a plane to Philly to pick up a rental truck and driving it back tomorrow. @Zbizzle911 got to see it in person.

I was surprised it wasn't burning worse when we got there. The driver did a good job with the extinguisher. Be safe traveling

That one looks close to getting some hyd lines and being real bad

Put a new windshield of the month on my scooter. Lighter tint, slightly shorter.
I’ve had the bike four months, and had four windshields on it.
