Spent the day organizing loaded ammo and components. Decided that the lead has to go for now (~800lbs).
BTW, the shelves don’t match, that’s how I know I don’t have OCD.

Pure geniusTo be honest, one of those ammo cans is full of little packs of M&M’s, they have yet to be found by children or spouse.
Whatcha doin there?View attachment 37020 I ruined one of my wife pots. Oh well, Im sure she has 20 more
Boiling lube off so I can powder coat. After the steel match Saturday I remembered why Idont shoot cast at matches. I had to dig into my reserves to make some minor PC ammoWhatcha doin there?
Works pretty darn well. Nice to have clean brass againI totally refurbed my el cheapo tumbler chamber with a new 4" plug, new plastidip, and some antiseize on the test plug bolt. Then I threw about 350-400 9mm cases in it and tested it
How is the other end capped, and do you have anything inside for agitation?Works pretty darn well. Nice to have clean brass again

I almost commented on the video, didn't connect the dots.Boiling lube off so I can powder coat. After the steel match Saturday I remembered why Idont shoot cast at matches. I had to dig into my reserves to make some minor PC ammo
Yes and yes. Standard knockout plug glued into the other end, and half a 1 inch PVC glued inside. It cleans brass usually like new in an hour or lessHow is the other end capped, and do you have anything inside for agitation?

Ok, so I have started the long process of converting 5.56 to 300BLK. I have about 1000 pieces of brass I ended up with after sorting out the head stamps that were not suggested to use. So far have about 100 ready for loading. I hope to do that this weekend to be sure everything is setup correctly before I start the rest of the batch.
How did you form the cases? Annealing or no? What dieset are you using? I am about to jump into this with both feet. Already got the squirrel daddy chop saw guide and HFT chop saw, and a bunch of 5.56 blank brass.
I really don't want to have to anneal but I'm sure it will make everything much better.
Anyhow what I did yesterday was test fit my brand new RCBS sizing dies in my Lyman 450. I forgot to get top punches though :/

I haven't loaded any yet but I formed a couple hundred without annealing. If I build a machine I probably will otherwise trash it when it fails. I haven't ever seen a Blackout group good enough to care about the fractional gains it may provide in accuracy.
Using Lee dies, hope they're working.
FYI if that HF saw doesn't cut brass like butter get a new blade. Mine came with one took minutes to cut stalled the saw, built heat like crazy, and generally ticked me off.
Plan on treating the 300BLK like my 5.56, no annealing. I figure it is range pick up so I didn't pay anything so if the case neck cracks, I throw it in the scrap bucket. Now I may have to change my way of thinking if they all start breaking after the first use but I don't think they will. I also must say I only target shoot for the fun, no competitions.
As far as dieset, I have used Lee dies for everything else so I got a set for them. What I am waiting on is there isn't a powder die for the 300 and I don't fell like hand loading that many cases with powder. Someone posted a .30 carbine works okay and that hopefully will be here today or tomorrow so I can try it.
Have you found the list of the brass they suggest use and not use? That was darn near 2 hours of sorting first. If you don't have it let me know.
Yeah I need that list, but I can guess which ones suck. GFL/Fiocchi/Perfecta and Tulammo can't drill a centered flash hole if their lives depended on it.
I sent the link to you. Not sure how others feel about linking to another forum. If it is okay with the mods I will post so others can see it one day.
If I were you I would just shameless plagiarize that list and make a separate post about it, maybe use the linky button to reference where it came from. That neck thickness info is priceless IMO.
Hadn't read that, which certainly doesn't mean it doesn't say it I probably didn't read them. No sights on the gun but I could roll a dummy this weekend and make sure it chambers if that'll help.Yeah I was gonna get a good blade from Lowe’s for it and also cut a few thousandths long so I can use the case gauge trimmer setup for the final cut. I have heard that Lee dies shouldn’t be used to reform blackout, I think it’s even in the instructions but let me know how it works before I get some
Works pretty darn well. Nice to have clean brass again
Ollies discount store. In the office supplies section. Works great in the toaster oven alsoI really like that wire container, where did you get it?
