What did you do in the reloading room today?

I haven't loaded pistol in a while, and I'm not looking forward it. I will have to find a new supplier since the green coated Lucky 13s aren't around anymore.

Did Lucky 13 go out of business?

Loaded 600 124gr Extreme hp's under some Winchester WSF. Haven't rolled any in awhile. It was therapeutic.

Tried out the Lee power quick trim on some .223 cases. It seems to do well for trimming on press. Trims, chamfers, and deburrs within +- .003.

Figured I would give this a shot since the dillon trimmer is a little out of my price range.
Did u take out the steel ball? I had to do that for .300blk as well which I was surprised since i thought it was too much pressure on the .223 neck and not a .30

I didn’t take the spacer out. I intentionally trimmed for an extra 10 seconds on one case. I didn’t notice any excessive trimming from the debur and chamfer blades.

well there is a spacer, and then there is the steel ball inside that pushes on the spring. The instructions for the .223 and .300blk trim dies say to take out the ball to decrease the tension on the cutters. The spacer is just for spacing reasons (usually the spacer works for pistol cases...)

Loaded up some 147gr FMJs I got from @backwoodsshooter. Tested with 15.3 and 15.7gr of H110. Coal is 2.180.

They ran well until I somehow broke my buffer retainer and the gun locked up.

Got some Nosler 125gr BTs for .300blk supersonic hunting rounds. Starting out at 16.3gr of H110 to test function.
Hope to use this as whitetail medicine next season. Should be running around 2000fps or better.

Awesome stuff.

Speaking of which I bought some 110gr HPBT for my 6.8, and some seirra 220gr round nose stuff to try ouot. I wish I could find some 220gr RN hornady stuff to try.

Speaking off 220gr pills, just bought an accurate 3 cav 220gr PB mold for subs. Cant wait for that one to arrive since every charges an arm and leg for .30 cal 220 jacketed pills.

I really thought about going the casting route for my 300. Still might actually. but I got other homemade stuff coming along. Maybe if I found a melting pot cheap enough I might start.
Yeah i cast for my pistol rounds, and figured that 220gr cast and coated will do everything I need subsonic for. Should keep supressors clean as well. The Lee 308 boattail mold is a pos though so I had to pony up the $120 to buy the Accurate one from Tom. I have another 115gr mold from Accurate I may try for lightweight supers and .30 carbine. I am honestly almost done with Lee 2 cav molds totally

I forgot about doing 9mm. I am down to my final 2-300 projectiles lol. But if I am going to cast for 9mm then I want to coat them as I am going to hopefully be getting a couple PCC

I got in on a Mihec group buy with an 8 cavity 9mm mold (posted here about 6 months back). It's grooveless and throws a perfect 135gr RNFP projectile for powder coating. Very accurate in all my 9mm guns.
Perfect weight for a cast bullet IMHO. Can run subsonic or +P speeds well with the powder coat.

Watch eBay, got my Lee 4:20 for $25/30.

Powder coating is pretty easy.

I'm still trying to decide on a mold. @Ikarus1 which Lee mold did you have? What didn't you like?

I have a few. The 120gr RN .308 one is terrible, older style with the groove location pins instead of conical. It doesnt cast worth a damn. Same with my new style 158gr .357 RN that Lee replaced.

All my Lyman 2 Cavs drop bullets flawlessly.

Sometimes a value isnt.

De-primed about 700 cases assorted calibers.

having trouble with the 40S&W loads (range brass) just cant quite get them to drop into the case gauge. ordered a lee bulge buster to try

Day two of 9mm..sized, belled, primed 250 yesterday. Loaded this morning...6gr Power Pistol, Berrys 115gr. All on a single stage.

Another 500 to go. Ugh.

Loaded up the last 300 RMR 124gr RN over some N320. Decided I am done with RMR bullets and will only buy Xtreme for any plated bullet needs I may have. Nothing really wrong with the RMR, Xtreme just does everything better for me, namely the profile lets me load longer in my CZ's, and I get much better accuracy with the Xtreme's. Also, Xtreme runs enough large % off sales the prices are better too.

Didn't really do me any good, maybe a 10% improvement being generous. Then I tried using a bullet sizing punch to push the cases thru rim first, pretty much 100% plunk success now and less effort required on the handle. Not gauging so it's possible my chamber is abnormally tight. Good luck.

Made an $8.00 ladder

.300blk 125gr Nosler BT
H110 powder
COAL of 2.100"
5 16.3 sighters 17.0-17.9 in .3gr increments

Everything shot well out of my Pistola on Saturday, and 17.9 showed no pressure signs at that COAL, so onward and upward.
Got a new Accurate 115gr .311 mold from Castboolits user, so gonna load up some PC'd cast and see how they do comparatively to the Noslers. I expect no better than 3MOA, which is still better
than the AK pistol I wanted to SBR :D

Loaded up some 250 gr rnfp & 255 gr lswc for 45 Colt along with a few 250 XTP in 45 Colt, as well. I've become quite fond of polymer coated lead bullets.

From earlier post "having trouble with the 40S&W loads (range brass) just cant quite get them to drop into the case gauge" they all chambered and worked just fine in all 3 of my 40s ordered a new case gauge and they all fit in the New Lyman case gauge without any issues

Are you sure the old case gauge was clean? I had a similar problem one time and it was because I forgot to wipe the gauge before I used it. I always oil them before I store them.

What brand was the old one? Just curious.

Loaded up 300 rounds of 9mm 147gr Gallants over 3.1gr of Bullseye.
Loading .355" commercial bullets answered the question I had when I got my shockbottle gauge, bullet diameter absolutely matters, my home cast are sized to .3565" and probably 25% fail, @ .355 maybe 10% do even CBC brass has managed to pass a few times.

The old one is a EGW 4 caliber and it is clean I could push the rounds in but they would not drop in I also use a lee FCD
