What did you do in the reloading room today?

Loaded up about 80rd of 9mm on my SDB before the plastic tip on the primer magazine snapped and stopped feeding primers.

Have an email into Dillon to see if they’ll send me a few spares.

What diameter are your .30 WCF projos? Did you sort them by weight also?

Did not sort. Shooting at 50 yards or less, I don't really see the advantage. The MBC coated bullets are nominal 165gn, the plated are 150, the Hornady are 150.

The coated bullets are .309, the plated are .308. I have not slugged the bore on that rifle, but the Hornady bullets are accurate.

I got the plated just so I could load something cheap to shoot at the indoor range (25 yards max). I can't push those very hard, so I have a load that gives ~1600fps. The coated bullets I am pushing to a little over 2000fps. Both of those were hitting several inches (8-10") low at 50 yards, and group sizes are terrible. The Hornady bullets I am pushing to 2450 fps, and they hit 3-4" high @ 50 and group much better.

Got my new LNL AP all dialed in for .300BLK. Very happy with it. Still have to tweak my 3D printed case feeder a little bit but it’s fine for now.

I plan to load up a couple hundred this weekend to break her in.

Is the case feeder your own design or did you find a file for it online somewhere? I just got a LNL myself the day before Thanksgiving, ended up buying the case feeder less than a month later. They seem to be getting along pretty well together. I was a bit concerned, while researching the LNL I cant tell you how many reviews I read about how folks loved their press until they added the case feeder to it. Seems to be the whole key to the LNL is very careful setup making sure the timing is absolutely spot on. Have probably loaded a thousand on it so far, mostly used to it now, a lot to get used to coming from running Loadmasters for several years.

It is not my design. I found it on Thingiverse and printed it in PLA Pro which is stronger and less brittle than regular PLA. It required a little fitting and sanding but I’m thrilled with it for less than $20 out of pocket.

I did the 22lr thing last year! Glad I am not the only one. Think I posted a picture. I will check

EDIT: here is pic

Glad I am not the only one, I've had it happen as well. Shoulda took a picture:eek:

Loaded up 200 rds of .41Mag. 50 ea. of 215gr LSWC over 7.9 & 8.4gr of Unique & 50 ea. of 240gr Keiths over 15.9 & 16.4gr of 2400.

The 215s are just for plinking. The 8.4gr load is pretty consistent (runs 1000-1100fps, depending on which gun I'm shooting- 5 1/2" vs. 7.5"), but I wanna see if the lighter load is any more accurate. My Rugers all shot the 240s well over 9.2gr of Unique, with 1100-1200fps, but while I like Unique for softball loads, I don't particularly care for it in warmer loads & much prefer 2400 for my gob-stoppers. Looking forward to seeing what they do.

Gonna get my .357Max dies setup tomorrow & put together some gas checked 200gr WFNs over 16-18gr of 4227. Next range trip ought to be fun.

Thankfully Dillon replied 2 days later said I had a few free replacements on the way.

Loaded up about 60 300BLK 125gr supers to test out my 3D printed case feeder and begin breaking in the press. Case feeder holds 46 pieces of brass and runs great. Unfortunately the LNL plate snaps so firmly that I was spilling powder if I didn't go very slow at the top of the down stroke. I found the below video on youtube on adjusting how firmly the plate snaps into each detent and this solution works great. Only takes 2-3min to get it just right and can be tweaked at anytime.

Thinking about switching handles over and breaking in a couple new molds.

6 cav Lee 312160 and a Arsenal 453210 H&G #68 clone.

That is a sweet looking round. Let us know how it performs

25 yard groups out of a 4 inch Rossi and a 5.5 inch Uberti left a little to be desired. I did save one round to pull as I think I might have over done it a bit with the crimp. If you want my specific load data with TiteGroup, send a PM and I will provide it as I don't want to clutter up this forum thread.

Finally got off my ass and prepped 500rd of 223...priming and loading next.

Finally used up all my win748, onto h335 now. Not too excited about working up a load, but will give 24.5, 24.7, and 25gr a try..using 55gr FMJ hornadys

Onto the next project: .45ACP. Thanks to Butter's bullet buy I'm set for little blue pills so I spent the last couple evenings tumbling brass.

Setting up the Dillon 550 tomorrow night!
I have a small sandwich bag of 45 brass you can have. Remind me for the next time we meet up

For one of my guns, 26.0gn of H335 with 55fmj was the most accurate, but in my 16" carbine 25.0 was the sweet spot, and wasn't bad for the other gun, either. About 2.0 to 2.5 moa.

Will be mainly shooting out of 16in carbines...part of me is thinking just load 25gr and call it a day. Seems to be a pretty common load.

Didn't know you could reload nickle plated casings

Sure you can. The nickel brass won't last as long as regular brass but you can reload it. I've seen it fail from time to time from too many reloads with cracks around the case mouth. But, at that point I just toss it.

Thanks for the tip! Learn something new every day.

Reloaded my first 9mm rounds. 124gr Gold Dots over 4 gr of TiteGroup. Didn’t blow my hand up so it was a success

@Toprudder. Check out the velocities it got below from a G34. I’m thinking I’ll go up just a bit (.1 or .2gr) to get me above 1100fps. Seems my SD is better than WWB but not as good as Federal. No issues with cycling or returning to battery.

Open to any thoughts from any of you who’ve been at this longer than I.
