How do you like the new hopper? I was thinking of getting one, but have never come across anyone that had one and did not want to shell out $$ with out a review. It looks like you got the larger one is that correct?

I like it, it's a bit of coin to shell out, but my old one was stripped & shrunk and a constant concern being so loose it wobbled. The baffle is built in, nice for dumping powder, but I have had some big flake powders that were more consistent without one. Static cling seems greatly reduced if not eliminated. O-ring cap so no worries leaving full. The clarity is of course great, but not a selling point for me.

It is the standard capacity, about 1.5" taller than oem.

To replace hornady's flimsy soda bottle plastic I think it is an excellent upgrade. I didn't bother for my RCBS.

Been putting all my stuff together, reading manuals, watching youtube videos, etc..... today I loaded my first rounds. I cut off the tv and my phone and double and triple checked myself at every step.
I loaded up 9 .243 Win rounds with 85gr Sierra hpbt bullets and IMR-4350.

I started out keeping notes similar to that, but one time I accidentally knocked it over and all the rounds fell out. Now, I write the charge on the side of each case with a sharpie. Some people use colored sharpies to mark the head, a different color for each charge.

Loading 3 at a time isn't allowing much room for jerked / muffed shots. Are you shooting these from a lead sled?
Yes sir.... Lead Slead DFT off a solid bench. I stayed in the middle of the load range with these. I'm sure I'll load and shoot a lot more rounds before i start any real work up to a load for deer season.

Good info there..... I'll mark each particular load with its own color on case head and mark my notes with corresponding color for reference. Thanks

Locked up my press by checking my powder charge with a .40 instead of a 9. The .40 was on my bench because I was weighing it to sell a bunch. Need to get rid of that .40 ASAP.

Tumbled some 38sp brass. Main project was running cat 6 cable out to load shed, then taking an old router and setting it up as a repeater. Now have great wireless signal in the load shed. I do not have to run back in the house when I want to look something up now.

Snowed yesterday, today was much better. Very happy with the results of my first batch. Nothing spectacular but all rounds fit the shockbottle flush or under and all went bang. Results from DLX @ 10ft:
2.7 PF 132 ES 31 SD 10
2.8 PF 138 ES 44 SD 14
2.9 PF 143 ES 48 SD 12
3.0 PF 143 ES 29 SD 8

Got back from the range and did my normal routine. Sorted and decapped brass, cleaned guns. I had a bumper crop of brass. Two friends were there and gave me all their brass, which included 44mag, 45 colt, 9mm, and 223. At the pistol range, the guy to our left started to pack up, I asked if he saved his brass and he said no, so I said I would sweep it up for him. Got some 9mm, 40, and 45acp. :) Took me a while to decap it all.

I cleaned the stick mags for a Thompson that were full of grease. I’ve never seen so much grease in a mag before, I half expected to find a Zerk fitting on them somewhere. Took about 1.5 hours to clean them.

Sized and lubed some .452 Keith boolits and then BLL tumble lubed them as well which helps with handling the sticky 50/50 lube used in the Lyman 450

254gr moving at 800fps should shoot thru a horse out of my 5.5" BH flattop

I needed something to do while I tumbled some 5.56 cases

Not in the reloading room but I shot those previously mentioned .452s after I sized/lubes and BLL'd them. With 5.5gr of IMR target in .45 Colt cases they throw those steel.plates around pretty nicely out of my 5.5" Blackhawk flattop. I'm happy enough to load up a few hundred

Made a dummy round for 429 DE. Take a 50 AE case and neck it down to fit a 44mag bullet. Trim to length, seat bullet. 44 mag on left for comparison.

I’ve been thinking about that round. What are your thoughts about it & how do you like it? Do they sell upper kits like they do for other calibers?
