What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

The services of the excellent gunsmith Tom Beliveau, to fit, install, and tweak a Harrison Extreme Duty rear on my Springfield 9mm 1911.

@BigWaylon lol

Where did you find the 45 upper?
I may, or may not, have given up on PSA and bought some AR45 stuff from a couple places tonight. It might have even included a QC10 lower so I’ll have LRBHO.

I may, or may not, have committed to building a rifle from a block of aluminum. I feel ambitious today, tomorrow it might be a paperweight of doorstop though.

I tested it with my Glock 19X as a suppressor host.

I usually try Blazer Aluminum 147 gr because it makes most guns choke. With the added weight of a suppressor and less than ideal ammunition, it still worked like a charm in the open and closed position of the brace.

Mind you, I wasn’t testing for accuracy or distance this time. Only for sheer reliability. This was a T&J Tactical 9 mm suppressor.

I did something similar with my Generation 2 CAA Gear Micro Roni Stabilizer using a Humpty Dumpty G19 and an CAA Gear MCK with a Glock 17 Generation 4.

Thought that I'd finally try and ambi mag release on my NRA/CMP competition gun (southpaw shooter here) instead of reaching over the gun to use my left hand for mag releases. The Norgon model looked good, but the price was a bit steep so I cheaped out and bought a Battle Steel clone from Botach.

Sure enough, the clone part binds up terribly in my Aero lower so back to Botach it goes. Should have listened to my own advice: buy once, cry once.

Back to left handed mag releases for now

Is that a QC10 lower?

What buffer are you planning on running?
Spartan from JoeBobs.
I have a 6oz that I run in my 9mm’s.
Gonna finish it and hopefully test it tomorrow. If needed I will order an 8 oz. Primary arms has one at a decent price

Cool.

Start up a thread in the PCC forum if you don’t mind. I ordered a QC10 this week. And an 8.2oz buffer from JSE ($22). I’d seen it mentioned that you might even want 10oz. Guess we’ll see. I’ll add my build info to your thread once the stuff shows up.

(You could just continue the AR-45 thread I started...since I’m bailing on the PSA offering at this point)

If the 6oz doesn't work, try the Kaw Valley extended 8-10oz buffer. I run the 7.5oz in my 9mm. Works amazingly with that decresed travel time.

Ordered a 9mm Quietbore solvent trap kit and drill fixture. Found a coupon code. Got it all with engraving service for under $300. Pretty stoked. My first Form 1 can.
Looking forwarding to hearing how this goes. Do you have a commercial pistol can to compare it to?

Curious if it really is just 8oz. And how it sounds being 1.25” OD.

I don't have anything to compare it to. A buddy of mine has an Obsidian in jail, but I'll have mine doen before he gets it. I have seen several videos of their .22 kits. They sound (or don't sound?) pretty good.

I know I am just messing with him. He asked me if I had a line on some Spegels. I told him the only ones I have are on guns in the safe and I am keeping them. I did reach out to a few people to try to locate some for him. :) Spegels are the best BHP grips ever!

I haven’t bought a damn thing and anything I “might” have bought was lost in a tragic boating accident at a location I can’t remember because I wasn’t there.

300 round of 124gr Browning 9mm. It looks like Academy might finally be out of this stuff which has been selling for $.17 a piece with free shipping if you get two boxes. Looks like in store only at this point.

Also picked up a base gun for a custom 1911 build from @KongDonkey . One of the new Colt O1911C with pre 70 series rollmarks and National Match Barrel. I plan to shoot some rounds through it and then send it to Don Williams of the Action Works for a Retro Build. Here are some quick Iphone pics.

I just saw where Starline is selling 30/06 brass. I ordered a bunch. I think I will retire quite a few of the cases I have been using for a while after I shoot the loads in them.
