What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

Today I bought about 9 hours of training. I learned soooooo much.
I learned that fundamentals like sight alignment, sight picture, and stances like the weaver and modified weaver are no good.
I learned that serious shooters use a weak-hand c-clamp in pistol shooting, just like operators use on AR15s.
I learned that kimber 1911's are garbage, and there are BETTER double action pistols out there, like wonder nines. I learned that my revolvers and metal pistols are useless garbage and what I really need is a Canik with an optic, a 20 round magazine, and a golden barrel.
I learned that if you use a leather holster, over time, a divot will develop that will touch off the 3lb double action trigger on a 1911. What grip safety? Carry condition butterscotch, right?
I learned that somewhere out there... ladies are wearing spankx holsters under skin-tight yoga pants.
I learned that the "hey I was a Marine so I know everything" guy in the class did not. (Ok, this was Not the first time I've seen undeserved bragging by a vet who claimed more than their dd214 might show - for some reason that is a HUGE aggravation today. I bit my tongue but really wanred to pat him on the back and let him know that "If you were a truck driver at Camp Lejeune or an admin clerk at Okinawa, that's cool." If you want to talk a bunch of smack at a firearms class... telling the instructor about your high speed trigger time, fine... but if you sweep the class, don't clear a firearm when it is handed to you, and you shoot a beach ball sized group, maybe - just maybe you should shut your piehole!)
Put up or shut up... or maybe just shut up and demonstrate instead of bragging. Maybe just brag about how you were the best marksman back in your day, and you rocked a pizza box, "4th award" maybe explain how the pizza box used to be so hard with those antique iron sight berettas or whatever.
Why isn't it good enough to just say "I served" and move on?
I learned that wearing a mask helps me hide the "are you effing kidding me???" smirk on my face, most of the time. But it only works for the first few hours of a class, and giggling loudly can give me away.
I learned that there is at least one lady bartender out there that can quote the DSM5, can poke holes in the center of a target like seamstress with a 9mm sewing machine, and would likely be better at taking trash out of the double-deuce than Dalton was... and is willing to put in work for whatever she thinks is worthwhile (Minor apologies for the old person rant and the ancient pop culture reference) and honestly - I'm sure that if I was 30 years younger, she would have been miles out of my league... but it is really nice to know there are SOME young people who aren't whiney, sniveling, participation award, underachieving, over entitled, thoughtless, heartless, worthless, complaining, bitchy little brats expecting life to be fair. And ok, yeah, Seems like there are lots of those too.. but not ALL.
Come on... all together now: can I get a group hug and a 'Get Off My Lawn!'

The best thing that I learned is that if this crazy upside down world can prevent me from buying anything, I need to take a class ... Everyone can learn and sometimes it's fun!

Sorry... had to add a photo, right?

Didn't buy it today but, brought it home today. I got it from an estate sale in Florida a couple of weeks ago. I went to my buddy's yesterday and picked it up and brought it home today. A 6" S&W Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman .357 Magnum. It came with a set of rubber grips but I was able to hoo doo @Etruett out of a set of target grips. :D

That hoo doo is going to be one expensive hoo doo when its all over!!! The grips look great on the gun. I had to wait until I saw how good they looked before I could decide what they were worth. Boy are those some pretty grips. Might be the prettiest set I've ever seen

I’m shocked, shocked I say.

How could you cover that beautiful gun diagram with an antiquated hunk of metal and wood?

i bought an xds with some accessories off another forum user.
Nice guy. and my ffl was able to convince him to do a private transfer instead of going through his bound books. yep, my ffl turned down easy money. and Alexy saved me a few bucks by agreeing.

and a challenge coin from MIGunOwners showed up today. And I also bought some FotNRA tickets yesterday. Oh, and 5 new purchase permits showed up yesterday too (only have 4 left already).
