I figure the best way is to be there when it arrives, but that's not always possible.

Especially with UPS, what is the 2nd best way to have a signature required package delivered when you're not there to get it? Reschedule? House sitter? Cookies every Christmas?

I have a neighbor who is always home and sometimes have things shipped there. Other way is to see if they will let you fill out a waiver and have on file however the risk is on you at that point for lost or stolen once "dropped off" or just go pick them up at the hub but that's always a pain in the ass.

Make really good friends with the regular driver. A 6 pack of beer every now and then makes them very happy.

I have packages delivered to my office.

Wait till they toss it over your fence and forge your signature, then go fish it out the ditch?

Just had to deal with this today. What I'm doing is having them sent to my attorney's office. He said it's ours take him but a few seconds to notify me via email that I can pick them up. Perhaps you can have them delivered where someone will be available.

CDNN now ships ammo that way, and they charge an extra $4.95 for it, even when "free shipping". I am expecting a package of 9mm tomorrow via FedEx. They just sent me a text, offering me three options:
1. Wait around all day.
2. Pay an extra $5.00 and they will come between 5:00 and 8:00 pm.
3. Pick it up at a FedEx store here in town.

I went with #3. Natchez, SOSS, Palmetto don't require adult signature, but CDNN was offering PMC Bronze, 9mm, for less that $0.20 a round, so I had to take it, despite the hassles.

See if they will hold at carrier and you can go pick it up there. Might not work with firearms though.

It's not too difficult if I know it's going to be sig required before it's shipped, like if I choose the option. It's those times when I don't know until I get an email saying I have a package coming tomorrow. Oh, and signature required. Lol.

At least with FedEx, I can intercept the driver at work, sign for the package there and he'll drop them off at my house. A la cases of Troy batllemags.

See if you can email copy of your Driver License to seller, Ammoman.com does this to save you the signature fee.

For UPS, I have them hold most packages (signature or not) at the local UPS Store if it's a day I'm not going to be around. It's convenient because it's ~3 min away.

I've done the same with FedEx, but it's 10-15 min away. I understand that's closer than most people are to one/both of those types of places.

When expecting a package and know I won't be there, I have left a note that says "UPS: OK to leave package" and signed the note.

That usually works, though not recommended if you have nefarious neighbors.

I'm dealing with this tomorrow

I'll text you a pic but you just need a shipping release authorization form off of their website filled out with the necessary information, and tape it to your front door.

I was here when it arrived. I told the driver he either needed to learn how to sign my name or let me know what his favorite beer was.

He laughed, started to walk away, paused and turned as if he was about to say something, laughed some more and walk away.

I feel like he was wanting to tell me something. Lol.

Sign up on UPS's website...they have some of UPS membership deal where you can authorize drops, alternate drop locations and track stuff. It's not bad.

They have a My UPS thing online you can also select it to be dropped off without being present.

Leave a note with a $10.00 bill attached to the little notification they leave you saying you need to sign for a package that they will try to deliver the next day when you are again not home. Usually they take the bill and leave the box.

That sounds like a good way to lose ten bucks lol
