What is the benefit of becoming a paid member?

That's different. To date, no one has figured out the password or secret handshake to even get IN the Platinum Section.
Who all knows what the heck we'll find in there.
@Chdamn slathered in molasses sitting there in a lawn chair in his birthday suit.
Ain't nobody wants to see that, not even his wife!!!

To the staff and founders of this forum, I want say say a very sincere thank you!! I fretted about the other site to the point that I to had decided to leave. This site has been a Godsend! I realize and appreciate all of the hard work, worry and the funds that have been expended for this site to be what it is today!!!

Most times you can't get a group of people to stand together even if they have the same basic ideals. But we as a Group, said I'm mad as h#ll ,and I'm not going to take it, being a member here says I took a Patriots stand for my 2a beliefs. And I've never been more proud to be a part of something.maybe the new guys won't get it, but the refugees from the other site do. To be allowed to give my support to a site started under such a noble cause is the only benefit I require, if the other members need a nudge to become paying members put up a how we got here sticky and explain what their dollars are supporting.

Though I have personally met only a few members here, this place feels like family. A few $'s spent to keep this family together is well worth the price of admission.

Even with the behind a keyboard bluster of a few, I know that I would trust all the members here to look after me any of the others if called upon.

Hi @Brangus

I want to post an apology to you for my response above. I was feeling defensive in the moment and latched-on to your comments.
I had/have no reason to question you nor the efforts of the staff. I sincerely apologize to you.
Please know that my only intention in starting this thread was to try to make this site a better place for everyone.

Kind regards, Paul

And all is good sir. I sincerely appreciate your response and respectable intentions as each one of us on the site have something to offer here. That is also what makes our diverse membership such a unique group.

We really have some great opportunities ahead of us and let's all have fun spreading this forum across the entire southeastern US region. We'll be much stronger in numbers and our voices will become a factor in the protection of 2A rights.

I'm anxious to get there.

I appreciate that fact. However, I must offer another perspective. Since December, I have offered multiple times in multiple ways to multiple people that if I could be of any assistance with this site, all they had to do was ask. I have yet to have one person ask me to do something or even what skills I could offer. I take no offense other than for it to be thrown at me that work is being done about which I know nothing. It appears to me that whoever is working all those hours wants to be because they sure aren't asking for me to help them.

I do appreciate all the "many long hours" that have been spent by others. However, maybe if the work was shared by more, there would be less work for one to do.

Having been part of a website I know what goes into getting it going and maintaining it and this site is a heck of lot more than the one I used to be associated with. That said, I would go out on a limb and say they really appreciated your offers to help, but at some point it gets to be too many fingers in the pie sort of thing. I spent many hours redoing others mess up. I got the feeling they were really working all out and a lot of things were beyond their control. As it seems now things are finally smoothing out and they can enjoy that beer now. Your continued support and in visiting the site and sending a little their way every now and then, goes a long ways to them. In closing would say don't take it personal, give them the support they need and it will come around eventually!

I have been following this same bunch of losers for many years now. These are my people. They understand the 2A and the the duties applied to us of the US Constitution. Though we may individually be disimmilar in many ways, we are bound to the ideals of the document in our daily lives. These men and women support their beliefs in reality with actions over words. They get that words are meaningless without actions. To stand with friends of a common resolve is worth my money, my time, and my friendship.

Most of these folks I have never personally met, but reading their opinions have affirmed my already deeply held ideologies. So why would you join and spend money with this bunch of misfits? Because they are best deplorables you are going to find. That my friend, is better than the fifty bucks blown at a movie for some actor who hates your existence. But you spend your money however you like.

Very well said sir! So well I fact that I have nothing to add except to say "ditto".

Time to reset your password, someone has hacked your account. You've never just said "ditto"...

That's almost as much an anomaly as Eddie saying "ditto".

Put a link to the other two sites we all escaped.
Tell fence sitters, if CFF fails, this is what you're stuck with.

I'll get a list together this week. Got a couple of add-ons to work on before the bells and whistles kick in.

Because if you don't pay, I will stop posting content.

Wait....That might not help increasulating the fundage.

Gimme a day or two I'll come up with something.

I think the benefit of being a "paid" member here is like being a "made" guy in the mafia. Your accepted, contribute and are part of something until you FU and somebody here wacks you and dumps you in a lake.

The upside is, that usually opens up a seat in the Platinum Section.

Just man up and pay. EVERY ONE else is doing it. Helps to "keep the lights on" so to speak. I have never been a paying member of any site. When I found this site, I couldn't think of a reason not to. Plus I don't like to see all the ads and crap.

Lesson learned:
The original post is irrelevant when everyone only responds to the title.

There was stuff after the title? :D

Also....You might ask the mods to create a feature you could call.....Oh I don't know....Hide from the Heron. A click able feature to hide a thread from yours truly.

Who would want to hide from all of your charm and wit?

Inspired by the discussion of our direction, I hereby create a zombie...

How does one become a member? What are the benefits of membership? What are the different levels? Can @TheWallrus do anything to help?

(If nothing else maybe I have made FNFC more enjoyable this week.)

Platinum Members section comes with the Premium level membership season pass.

Except we pick on everyone on the playground. Then we pick on everyone else.
Then we get to draw for cool stuff like inkpens and axes and MREs.

Then the swag like hats and stickers.

The biggest one for me is ownership in the place I hang out at. I started with the Shooters Club. Was one of the first 300 or so to sign up there. Went MIA for a while when the Club moved to the Forum. When that was sold I told the owner of the Forum "we'll see" and I was gone when the dust settled on their latest cluster flap.

When I was just a wet-behind-tha-ears noob here I always marveled at, and looked forward to the possibility of becoming a Platinum member. As I learned the things I needed to learn to become one, I became a man..... sigh. I finally was accepted and was a bit apprehensive at first, then came the bling. It was all over then. I fell like a rock !

This new guy get's it.
When I first started lurking around, I came across little tidbit references to things that I assumed led to this site being created.
Which naturally aroused my curiosity, so I started digging, which led me to another site, where I dug some more, and ultimately found a post by someone who I assumed was one in charge, who said something like "Let them go start their own site, blah blah blah."
That was all I needed to hear and I couldn't get back here fast enough to sign up!
Thanks to all that make this site what it is.
Greg

Thanks for the complimentary words Greg and we're all glad to be joined together with such a great group of members like yourself. And here we are a little over one year later.

Thank you also for stepping up when we began as a Benefactor and Supporting Member ! Your efforts will help us keep Carolina Firearms Forum the best internet hangout anywhere. Wishing you and yours a great Christmas and holiday season.

What is the benefit of becoming a paid member?

Too many to list...

Supporting a site with an excellent knowledge base, the potential to find employment, BST with other folks, friendships created, folks to lean on when the road's rough, generosity of the membership here...I could go on.

Personally, for me, one of the best benefits is the concentration of liberty-minded folks on here. There may be another site out there that has more, but I ain't seen it. Honestly, I don't think it exists.

The obvious reason is that paying a membership helps to keep the lights and servers on. This stuff isn't cheap and if you're getting value from it, then a couple dollars a year is a reasonable price to pay.
Pretty much this for me, plus there is alot of good info here in various areas. Also i knew it was a tremendous effort to get the site up and running in short time when the othrt place put money in front of their "morals".
