What law did this 15 yr old break?

Also I take issue with the notion of this
"Snapchat is temporary but it is neither private or non reproducible. Once you put it out there, it belongs to anyone that wants to save it"

Does that work for private telephone or in person conversation as well? If I recorded someone making a "veiled threat" joke, edited all the context out and submittes it to authorities as a threat report?

Reality man, I deal in reality. Once you hit enter and throw it out there on the net anyone that receives it can screen capture it. Period. Here, FB, snapchat, instagram. You only "own" it in the vaguest senses anymore. And you sure can't do much to protect it once it's out there. Therefore, how can you claim that an internet board is private? We can't even keep the bots out of here.

I am free to record any telephone conversation I am a part of. And that's basically what happened here. Someone recorded a conversation they were a part of. In the SC case, which is the main one were are talking about here and I made sure of that with you a while back, it's LE involved not the school. The school contacted LE after they were contacted. Because at the point where you are posting pics of you with guns and referencing another school shooting it's time for someone to have a serious conversation with you. Exactly what context of the picture is edited out?

The internet is a piss poor way to convey a lot of things, and bad jokes are high among them. Man you are twisting logic into pretzels to make a piss poor point about something stupid a kid did. And the fact that you refer to the kid that found it a threat, and likely the parent that did to, and the school administrators that did as "tattled" is simply F+++ing disturbing on so many levels. No way in hell I would sit by quietly if that passed through my daughters social media feed and she showed it too me.

We talk about situational awareness and that is exactly what this is. The student saw something that concerned their safety and they made it know. Most likely the parents saw it too and they took steps to protect their child and other children as well. If that kid made verbal threat in person with that AR he would be a dead man. And it would be justified as well. Threats are not protected speech and public threats are not private speech. I prefer to take care of kid stuff parent to parent. But when you are threatening my family, or I think you are threatening my family, I have no interest in dealing with you or your parents. You're dealing with LE now. That's exactly what they are there to moderate. You really think another parent is going to be able to have a real conversation with his parents? If they are already close, maybe. But if they don't know each other, you're living in a bigger fantasy world than I thought.

I wonder if these FB posts will result in a "disturbing schools" charge, or will it be "disorderly conduct"?

Which one o' dese? ???

I believe the term is stochastic terrorism: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/stochastic-terrorism

It isn’t making a threat, but rather trying to incite others to commit violence.
