I have a VG6 Epsilon on the way. From what I can gather installation may require a couple specialized tools. Should I just take it to my LGS for installation?

Just realized I probably should have posted this in the gunsmithing section.
Sorry.

Muzzle brake? All you need is a spanner and some type of anti seize.

Vise block and wrench, that’s all.
Some people will make a barrel clamp out of hardwood and that works too.

I’ve done it without a vise and it’s 5x harder than it needs to be.

It’s not that hard but you’ll need an armorer’s wrench for the VG6, action block (I prefer a Geissele Reaction Rod) to hold the upper and a vise. This device does need to be clocked so the ports are positioned to direct gases for the recoil part so you can use the crush washer that comes with it but I like peel washers to shin instead. If you are only going to do one or two of these and you can borrow the tools it should not be a to much but if you have to buy the stuff it might be more cost effective to have a smith do it.

It should come with a crush washer. The device has wrench flats. Just use appropriate wrench. Look at some youtube vids. Easy to do but clock it right the first time, as crush washer only work once. If you back it backwards you'll need another washer.

If you are around Pittsboro at all I'd be happy to help.

Similar to this. Make sure VG6 is clocked correctly. Off the top of my head I believe the logo is facing down.

@NCFubar has a point. @Damn_Yankee you’re welcome to borrow my viseblock and armorers wrench if you want to meet me around Birkdale. May be too far for you, not sure. PM me if so.

Thanks! I’ll let you know.
