Just got my F1 can recore job back...

Ti tube
Ti end caps
8x 17-4 H900 stainless baffles
2x 17-4 spacers

OAL ~6"

Bore .420"

Good for 9mm....300BLK subs....338 Lapua? What's the highest pressure round you'd subject this to?

I think it would take most standard rifle rounds as long as it wasn’t mag-dumping...just due to the Ti not wanting to get too hot for too long.

I’d shoot 9, 300BLK (subs & supers) 5.56 and .308 through it without a second thought.

Wouldn’t do the Lapua since there’s no warranty. :D

Let's just say that theoretically I had an F1 can (I don't). Let's say I broke it with overpressure. Is there any practical reason not to just destroy the broken parts and replace them (re-engraving a new tube if that broke)? Then keep shooting it with the lower pressure rounds than broke it?

Another question - is there a list somewhere of muzzle pressures for various round types? Kind of like I have a roughly ordered list of powders by burn rate. Is there a list of standard ammo types by muzzle pressure that you could work through testing out a can? Or to take a commercial can rated for 308 (for example) and know which other rounds are less than or equal to the same pressure? I assume that SAAMI chamber pressure is not always proportional to muzzle pressure.

I'd put it on my 5.56 11.5" AR pistol.

Other than it's illegal?

Yes, other than that. As long as there are never two of them at the same time, it seems impossible for that to be a _practical_ issue, as long as you do your own engraving.
Like I said, no F1 can here at all, but the OP question brought it to mind. I know those parts were custom made for him, but if you had a DIY and broke it, it seems self-repairable.

I believe that the tube is the one thing you can't replace legally

Tim, where did you get the baffles and spacers? Did you make them or buy them? I have a few F1 can’s that I’d like to build; hence my question. Thx.

Nick @ ECCO did the recore. Same one that did six recores for me and worked on four others. Lots of his worked pictured in the solvent trap thread.

I don’t think Tim has posted a pic, yet...but he also converted an older AAC can go the semi-standard Omega thread pitch for him.

As @BigWaylon said, I sent my tube, mount and end cap off to ECCO for custom baffles and spacers. I am very pleased with the work. I haven't shot it yet, so I'll reserve final thoughts until then.

Before this recore, I had used Ti valve spring retainers and custom cut Ti spacers. It worked, but this approach should give much better results.
