I read where the police are having to borrow ammo from citizens.
 
Wonder how much ammo has been looted from personal caches? How much has been “commandeered” by police? The old saying “Never put all your eggs in one basket” is popping into my mind. The way things are going I’m really thinking about how to set up caches of loaded mags as well as loose ammo for reloading them in various spots “just in case”. All in one close proximity when it’s possible to spread it out might not be a bad idea.

Bury it somewhat deep and then put a pile of random bolts and crap on top. That way if someone comes along with a metal detector they‘ll hopefully find the bolts and quit.
 
From what I understand in South Africa, they are allowed to own guns but only 200 rounds of ammo.
They are running out.

So, a corrupt idiot becomes President of South Africa. Largely due to political connections, corporate money backing and election fraud. He neuters Police forces leaving them ill equipped and minimally staffed. He subverts the Country's Intelligence agencies and fills them with corrupt officials.

Then, when he is slapped on the wrist and jailed for corruption - for only 15 months, his black voting block riots, loots and burns. BUT - it is NOT RANDOM. It is organized. By who? The South African Intelligence agencies! They are destroying factories and infrastructure. Systematically. Pretty heady stuff for a group with IQs hovering at room temperature.

The Police are powerless to stop the violence. Whites are targeted and murdered. There are no repercussions, for the murderers.

Any of this sounding vaguely familiar? ;) God help the United States. South Africa was once where we are today. And not all that long ago. Regards 18DAI

Food, water, ammo and friends. Those are just about all the matters. I guess location is key too, but a much harder thing to improve for most. I’ve spent the last few months tweaking and building my defensive tools. I am probably a little behind where I should be, but am going to start on adding more food supplies.
 
Interesting thing pointed out is the possibility that other places have an an advantage to be secured once your home is. Depending on your location that local convenience store you have filled up at for the past 25 years … the local mechanic … a doctor or even vet clinic … that owner might be a good person to “help” secure his business for a period of time. I’m not sure what type mall the guy was protecting but that might be a little much for me … I’d stick to the local shops with needs not luxuries.

Imagine a rally point for just 3 or 4 board member and there families to join forces … hell someplace like Battery Oaks would become Fort Battery Oaks and I’d actually say people could relax a little bit every so often. Loners might survive but it would be way easier with the right common ground to breath.

I had a Video call with a lady from South Africa. She literally looked and talked like the hot chik in Lethal Weapon 2.

She had to go home last month to tend to her mother and got back 2 weeks ago.

I told her I am glad that her mother is on the mend, and she said with a distant look on her face, "Yes, but now South Africa is very sick, and it will not get better" She then added that our media is not covering the atrocities she heard about and saw while she was back for a month.
 
Isn’t South Africa where Dredd was filmed? Mega City 1 looks almost the same as what we’re seeing on the news.

An area study, an understanding of the movers and the shakers, the good and the bad, of your immediate AO is crucial for any meaningful defensive action, be it against looters, a tyrannical domestic threat, or a foreign actor.

Notice how he identified the impending signs of looting about to kick off and who were waiting in the wings to really set things off. Good eyes!

i might make it past the main road. I have that bright yellow and red battery oaks hat that can be spotted a ways off. It might at least get me the "wait, don't shoot until we figure out who that is" treatment
