Whatcha' listening to?

girl's voice is great
I prefer the album version, but this one is quite nice too

early 00s hardcore that didnt gain a ton of traction.
I randomly came across "Unbroken" by A Perfect Murder in a Circuit City in WS. Never heard of them before, but for some reason I bought it...and at, like, 14 bucks or something. Pretty brutal stuff.
Never got to see them live, dont know of any shows around here.
Not sure if they are still around or anything.

Watched Scott Pilgrim again the other day, this song is really dang good

Boom! Going to see Buddy Guy at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington May 9th!
Thank you @gunbelt and @CZfool68 for the blues conversation and giving me a heads up! I don't believe they'll be in Wilmington, but some of the stops have had Quin Sullivan and Johnny Lang with BG.

REALLY?!? You have the unmitigated gall to bring Canadian music here?!?

just kidding, she's a nice voice.

Mea Culpa (chest thump)! I knew I was treading on dangerous ground, but I posted a Neil Young video earlier and wasn't banned, so I think I felt emboldened, eh. ;)

Only because I missed the Neil Young vid you posted!
Was it Southern Man?

Well, there you have me, I can't find it, though one of my old links is a dead one. But, no, it wouldn't have been Southern Man.

I DID post an Alannah Myles vid (post #406), however: I do have an excuse, my paternal grandfather was a Newfi.

Some local boys.

Indeed.
Great guys. If you like this, check out the new band, ADVENT.

Saw Beloved MANY times (dozen+ ?), love it.
Were you into the HC scene around the Triad at the time? Curious if we know each other

I was going to all the shows I could, but I didn't really get involved. My friends and I had to drive my rusted out 1981 Chevy from Statesville to see anyone decent play.
We tried to catch Zombie Gutz every opportunity we could. They were about the closest thing we had to a hometown band.
Did you hang with Statesville Stan?

Name doesn't ring a bell.
Cutler D?
Both dudes in mid-30s now, went to a lot of shows with them, only ones I can think of from Statesville.

Also, good timing on this post - i got a facebook notification today from 2009: It was a wedding I had went to, about 15 of us in a group shot, the friends of the groom who went to shows etc. Including Joe and Johnny from Beloved/Advent. And my boy Blake from BTBAM.

Nope. But like I said, we didn't really get involved. We were just there for the music.
Sounds like you missed a big part of the music though - meeting new people and making new friends etc.
That's what I loved about the scene, go and hang with your friends and listen to great tunes, meet new friends etc.

Maybe. But I've got an anti-social streak a mile wide. I really didn't fit in either, didn't have the look, didn't care for all the drinking and drugging going on.
One of my friends at the time (who's moved across country now) probably knows all the same cats; he used to hang around with a couple dudes from A Stained Glass Romance.
You would’ve fit in fine with all of us. Camo shorts and a old Hatebreed hoodie, you’re golden.
This was the best local band

Dude, most of us are/were (most still are) edge - no substances being used.

@DCGallim I loved seeing htem, brutal and fun. And I'll say that they were the best local band that didnt do much else.
I dont mean that in a terrible way, I mean it as far as they didnt go on tours etc.

Also, came across a xRed With Vengeancex cd the other day.

Ah yes, sXe. I had almost forgotten that was even a thing.

DUDE! I JUST sent that video to a buddy the other day, we were talking about Snapcase
Personally, Caboose is one of my favorite hardcore songs ever.

Earl Slick sounds like 2 guitarists here. Maybe post production but still great. DB always surround himself with great musicians. Mike Garson included.

Seen a few of this guy's videos, pretty cool covers. I like how he plays almost all of the instruments on them.
