What's for breakfast?

What no black pudding? We always had black pudding for breakfast when we stayed at B&Bs in Ireland.

What you got do look yummy though.

That's what I'm talking about. I got a chance on Saturday to make breakfast for the wife and I, but I've worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

All good... except for the northern beans. I like them for lunch or dinner, but can't get a taste for them for breakfast.

Looks really good and I'll have to try that, but I think I'll have to leave the beans out.
Just never been a fan of them, though your breakfast looks really good....I like to have tomatoes with my breakfast too.

Steel cut oats are really good.
I use 1c oats to 4c water, put in a ovenproof bowl and cook overnight on 200.
So good the next morning and you can put the remaining in containers & freeze if you don't want to eat them another 3 days in a row. :)

Ok. This is a new way of cooking them. I'll have to try that!

Lol, hence the -ish part... I love black pudding and white pudding, but don't have any in the fridge...

Beans are a staple breakfast food in Ireland and Great Brittain. They eat them more like canned baked beans though...

UK baked beans are way different than baked beans here. More a ketchup type sauce, less sweet and much tangier. Good stuff.

Didn't get any pics, but Saturday I cooked sausage, cheesy eggs and biscuits. Sunday was centre-cut bacon, cloud-scrambled eggs and potatoes O'Brien.

Since I'm a man of no means I like to make myself useful and wake everyone up with a good breakfast.

Do you put a lid on the bowl?

Black pudding, if cooked right is amazing. I haven't seen it anywhere around here, although the Colombian blood sausage is an acceptable substitute.

Agreed. Just looking for a comparison for folks questioning beans for breakfast.

Even better is baked beans on top of cheese on toast.

You Brits have an odd sense of food... Considering the generally horrible cuisine across the pond, I'll give you a pass though... ;)

Ah ok. I make two basic kinds of eggs at the request of the vict.... diner.

Regular scrambled is the harder, more solid kind. No milk in the eggs, less folded air. Denser, more like what you get at Bojangles.

Cloud scrambled is VERY folded, lots of air, milk and when cooked (constant agitation is a must, they absolutely cannot settle) you end up with very fluffy eggs that are much less dense, lighter and look sort of like clouds.

What, no pictures?

Time to revive this thread from the dead!

Sunday Brunch-- a fitting end to the dregs of the Gosling rum leftover from the cabin weekend!

Johnny cake topped with bacon, ricotta cheese, strawberries, blueberries, and apricot backed with honey & rum, little nutmeg on top.

Well I thought we were going to see the wife's sister today so I dug out some leftover corned beef hash and cooked 3 eggs in it.

Now we aren't going and I'm too full to go out to brunch...
