Not dinner related, but cooking related. Sharpening my mom's grandmother's knife. It is my mom's favorite. I use a newspaper to make sure a knife is sharp before moving onto the next one.20180520_174303.jpg

Smoked wings. Warmed up a loaf of day old bread on the high rack at the end.

Looked the other way for 1 minute at the end when I turned up the heat after 2 hours smoking. Of course it flares up and burns... SOB!!

I'm a Lexington style man through-and-through, but this place really exposes how lazy all the hometown places have gotten. Real wood smoked, moist and flavorful meat. All it needed was some red slaw (and some tomato in the sauce) and it would've been heaven. Absolutely stop in if you get the chance, but be warned that it was packed when we went during lunch rush.

Glad it turned out good. Looks like you captured Rodney himself in that pic!

He actually served us our food! I didn't even click on the link to the YouTube video. Got home on my computer, opened YouTube and had a notification for it. Thought that was pretty wild.

I forgot to get pictures but I got the Weber fired up again for the first time in a while. Squash, zucchini, and onion mixed together, corn on the cob, and some big ol' pork chops.

Ok, full disclosure. I have no idea what I am doing. I've cooked one roast in my life and followed the recipe exactly. It was decent, but boring. So today I am shooting for a roast with a mexican twist. We'll see how it goes..

Quick browning

Threw some onions, bell peppers and jalapeños in after removing the roast.

Threw the roast back on after cooking the veggies a few minutes. Added some lemon and lime juice from freshly squeezed fruit. A few garlic cloves, cause gotta have a little garlic. Then added some sangria and topped with a little cilantro. Going to cook at 250 as long as it takes. Will make some rice and have some street taco sized tortillas. Might roast some corn with some spices as a side. Not sure yet.
