Had my Packers fan neighbor over for the Rams vs Pack game. I am a lifelong Ram fan so it was on. Being a good host this is what I did. And it was awesome...

Home made pretzels with beer cheese cooked in cast iron.

I should have. I doubled the recipe for the pretzels and beer cheese and have an entire pan of leftovers in the fridge. Guess I'm going to have beer, cheese and carbs again tomorrow. :p

Co-vacationing with my parents in Surfside Beach. The condo had a “park model” grill. What a PITA!!! Still turned out ok... for chicken breast...

The fresh caught grilled shrimp didn’t make the pic. Ate too fast!! It was awesome but primarily because of the made in Salisbury NC Pig Pen seasoning. AMAZING stuff.

A sort of spicy dumpling soup with bell pepper, ground pork, dumplings, and a dried Carolina Reaper pepper.
Sneaky hot.

I assume you bring your own reaper? I can picture some TSA guy checking out your baggage and taking a big whiff. He'd have nosebleeds for a week.

Tonight, Boneless Pecan coated Pork Tenderloins, Baked Sweet Potato's, Brussel SproutsPork, sweet, brussel 001.JPG

Haven't visited this thread much while I'm travelling, but it's time for another Group Like!!

I had tri tip, eggs, taters O'Brian and toast at my defacto BiL's yesterday morning, then my vegan sis cooked us all a mushroom risotto, roasted spare geese, and garlic bread feast for dinner. It was great, and I was diplomatic about the non-carniverous nature of the meal...

Home to NC tomorrow, time for some smokey pig & cider vinegar sauce soon!

Tonight, Charleston crab cakes sandwiches on Whole Wheat Sandwich Thins, with American Cheese, my wife's Mayo & Ketchup spread, Alexia Fries and Bushes Beans.crab cakes 002.JPG

Tonight: knockwurst with homemade stout mustard, grilled kraut and German potato salad.

Poached tilapia & jasmine rice.

Simmer: diced onions; celery; carrots; a clove of garlic; two cloves (stick them through two carrots bits so they can be removed); Italian seasoning (or bouquet garni); salt & pepper for about 20 mins or so. Add tilapia to poach until flesh is firm. Add a slice or two of lemon or a hint of lemon juice near the end. Cook up the rice as per packet. The poached vegetables can serve as a side (just remove the two carrots with the cloves as biting into those would not be pleasant).

Simple Friday fare.

PS keep the water temp just below a "simmer," one doesn't want it actually at even a low boil.
