What's for lunch?

I didn't have left overs for lunch today so I went over to the cafeteria of one of the medical facilities nearby and got some spaghetti and meat balls for $2.41. Hard yo beat that deal with a wet noodle.

I'm still on a diet so it was a plain salad for me today. :(

I'm on a diet also, the see food diet. I see food, I eat food. That's the way it was meant to be....
Actually I did have leftovers for lunch. Sautéed chicken breast, steamed, mixed vegetables and buttered egg noodles with Ritz Crackers as a backstop. That's one of my favorite dishes, stole it from O'Charlies about 10 years ago.

That looks better than what I had. I was off and cut my yard today. Came in and took two pieces of turkey and wrapped it around a cheese stick. Ate it walking back out the door.

However, I plan to have squash/onions and little potatoes from the garden with a grilled steak tonight!

I had a good ol' left over burger from the grill with some mayo, mustard, and bacon jam.

For some reason I can't bring myself to drink anything alcoholic before 5:00 in the afternoon. I haven't had a beer with lunch for probably 40 years. What's wrong with me?? (never mind, I really shouldn't ask)....

I don't drink on planes, in airports or on days when I work. But I am up at our mountain cabin doing some work. A one beer lunch seemed appropriate. And I am trying to eliminate diet sodas. So beer or water. Choice seemed easy at the time. :D

Don't get me wrong, I don't condemn anyone to have a beer with lunch or whenever the urge hits, it's just not for me...
I'm sure you've heard the old saying, "A guy has a beer on a boat at 0600 and everyone calls him a Sportsman, but the same guy has a beer at home at 0600 and everyone calls him a drunk".... Go figure.....

2 ham sammich.. tapioca pudding, orangejuice, Milano double dark choc cookies, a cucumber, piece of bundt cake and ritz cracker to wash it down. ... yes, i made my own lunch today. :D

Salad again but with blue cheese and half an egg. Balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing.

My Great Grandfather ran a tavern, my Great Grandmother called it a restaurant. Everyday, after lunch, she'd come down and watch it while he went home to nap. If you came in and ordered a beer, she'd smile and serve it. If you ordered two, she'd frown a little, if you ordered three she'd run your drunk ass out! When business was poor, he'd chop up a bunch of onions, celery and peppers, heat up the grill and throw them on, while he turned the fan over the grill out into the ally. Pretty soon he'd have all kinds of customers, "Mr Charlie, I'll have one of them hamburgers!" I was named after that old coot! He's been dead 53 years and they still can't get grass to grow over his grave! I think he gets out on the weekends!

Hot pastrami with the metrosexuals in Raleigh today. Village Deli always makes a great pastrami sammich. It was bigger in person.

Took my daughter for a nice long stroll at Umstead. She decided we were having Jimmy John's on the way home. Slim 5 for her and the 10 for me.

If I had enough hair, I would have some product, too.

One of my stops was around the corner from the house today. So I stopped and fried a couple eggs and made a couple grilled cheese sandwhiches with a big glass of chocolate milk.

I have passed that place everyday for the last 6 years and I say I will try it but never do
This one is in Cameron Village, but they apparently have several others in town.

"Gas station" sandwiches.
