What's for lunch?

Curt can stretch it for you...
I have five of them, wait, four...anyway, that's all I'm buying because you can't wear them out.
It appears live humans can expand faster than dead cows.

Damn that looks good. Just started KetoGenic diet, no starchy carbs and I am a carb addict. I had a bowl of rabbit food with some Tavern Ham and Havarti cheese.

I was just thinking about some Nova or Lox on a make believe bagel with veggie cream cheese for breakfast tomorrow.

Had lunch in Raleigh yesterday. Went to the Pit. Chicken wings were supposedly smoked then flash fried. Bullshit. They weren't smoked at all. Not real crispy, no flavor and an abomination against all things holy. I'd give them a 2 out of 10 since they didn't give me food poisoning. Disappointing.

On the other hand me and my wife tried a cup of their chili since it sounded interesting. They use ground ribs as the meat. It was probably the best chili I've ever had. Not as hot as I like but you can always add heat. Flavor was great and it had a decent amount of peppers and onions to bolster the flavor. Next time going for a bowl.

Celebrating daughter graduating to next swim class. She 100% wanted BBQ to commemorate the moment! Love this girl!

I asked if they’d throw in a small taste of the brisket (both kids got pulled pork and I didn’t get anything). They threw in a whole sandwich!!!

Please forgive the canned mushrooms. I find I prefer them in a pan sauce...

Just had a great brunch at Farmer and the Dail, in Snow Hill, NC (it’s out I’m the middle of nowhere, then take a left and keep driving past that)! Smashed the food so fast, I forgot pics again. Had a southern fried chicken biscuit with hash brown casserole and a peach turnover. This place is awesome! ( but not cheap ). If you take the kids / grandkids, it may be meet to take them to sit at a table first before hitting the line to order… here’s why….

Sorry no pics. I was hungry. Tommy's BBQ in Biscoe. It was good, I thought it was a tad expensive for what it was though. If in the area, I would probably eat there again.

Just south of there is Lefler’s that I recently learned about in Mt Gilead. Smoked chicken on Thursdays and ribs on Fridays. Pork available the rest of the time.

I saw this thread pop up with me as the OP and I thought, what the heck?

2019, and I can’t recall back to late 2022. LOL

That was me… 🙋‍♂️. I revived it… the breakfast and dinner threads were rolling and I didn’t want to cloud them with my lunch fare. Thanks for kicking it off…. Way back when!!

I have it flagged on my map. We were in the car but enjoyed the ride through Uwharrie National Forest. BE CAREFUL, gravel all over some of the twisties up there.

If you are ever in Garner, NC, check out Angie’s. It is really good home cooking! I had not been down that way in awhile, so a stopped in on my way through. This place had a crazy number of waitress, food runners, and cook staff. It has to be the most I have seen in a restaurant, since pre-pandemic. And…. And.. they were super friendly and attentive! I know weird, right!

2 Fried Chops
Mashed taters and gravy
Corn fritters
Cornbread
Apple cobbler (comes with the meal, not extra)
