Used to be craigslist or cycletrader would turn up a lot of interesting used bikes. Now... not so much.

What's the hip on-line resource kids are using these days to buy/sell used bikes?

I’ve bought and sold a few on eBay, but it’s usually not local.

Advrider.com seems to have an inordinate number of bike listings that are relatively local to the Carolinas, though it is not the focus of the site.

Seems like everyone around me uses Facebook market place now. No where near the deals to be found on Craigslist anymore.

Yea I know, I've sold a few vehicles on there since they implemented that.

I really just hate/refuse to use Facebook.

Gosh..that's a good one.
Dunno anymore.
I have a good buddy of 26 years. Has his own dealership. I've gotten 3 bikes and an atv from him, and he's sold a couple for me.
I just tell him what I want, and he hooks me up.

I remember looking through the Iwana. There used to be tons of bikes in there, all kinds, and good deals too.
Does Iwana even exist anymore?

Maybe folks are hanging on to their older bikes right now, vs. buying new? I know HD has cut production way back & I've heard at least one radio ad from a Harley dealer offering cash for used bikes.

Sport Cycles in Rockingham has good prices on used bikes. Got a great deal on my DL1000 from them, and customer service is beyond great.

Harley is dead and it's only a matter of time. I sold mine and never going back. Dual sport and adventure bikes are the new kid on the block. Since switching I've lost 42 pounds. It's a better life style. At 55 yrs old I had a choice, be a fat fk on a Harley or get a dual sport (KLR650) and get active. Cruisers encourage sloth IMHO. The buyers of Harleys will be mostly gone in a decade.

Yer harshing my mellow, boy. I aint riding no stinking adventure bike. Harley has made some misteps to be sure, but the big HD dealership where I bought mine was wide open last month when I bought mine. Fully staffed in all departments, and full of customers.

And if they are dead in ten years, no matter. I probably will be, too.

I mean really? This is what they came up with?

I hadn't seen that model.
Styling cues aside, eye of the beholder and all that, what strikes me-
Good; Brembo brakes. Econo model but still better than HD stuff. Alum. banana swingarm. Trellis frame. Bash plates.
Bad; Kiss them turn signal handguards goodbye within the first 20 minutes in the woods. Padded plywood seat. Engine cases are delicate, and those are begging for a rock to open them up in a fall. Toothpick spoked wheels. Inverted forks yay, too small boo. The radiator is pleading for something to poke a hole in it, needs a grill. At least make the front fender come down in the rear to prevent the inevitable tire-thrown rock.

HD struggles with models outside of their mainstream. It's like they do no outside consulting. I know lots of adv guys and they will happily pick your crap apart and you can take it from there.

KLR:
Now there is an exciting bike.

Haha just kidding.

Maybe, maybe not. But the owners of H-D's will be around a long time.

It ain't what you ride, it's that you ride. Get on 2 wheels & fly your freak flag proudly. I like all motorcycles, but in my case, a proper bike weighs 600-700lbs & makes potato-potato noises.

I've had hotrod, big bore rice & while they're fun, my juvenile delinquent inner child doesn't have the self restraint for such.

Yep, Adv is a great place to look. I've sold several bikes there.

I'll probably list my 990 there when I get it "ready to sell", but I will list it here first. Don't want to ship.

Facebook Marketplace has a good many bikes on there. Let Go occasionally has some.

I'm looking at lighter/smaller dual sports that are still extremely streetable (I consider my old KLR650 'extremely streetable' since I had 44k miles on it before the wreck).

The little 230/250 dual sports I think are going to be too small, they might go 70 mph, but I can't imagine they would for very long.

Looks like the Versys 300 might be a contender.

Really sad about CL, but it explains why there is nothing reasonable on there anymore.

I'll buy new before I touch fu*ckbook in any form.

These small ADV bikes coming our are super cool. Like the Versys300.
