I don't have any dedicated long range(ish) hunting rifles and would like to fill that void. I'm realizing I don't even know where to go to find them. I've been trying to search around but inventory seems super limited everywhere. I'm primarily looking at some variant of the following:

Tikka T3
Howa
Savage 10/110
Browning BLR

Not entirely certain of the ideal caliber. I've looked primarily at the 308, 30-06 and 300wsm.

BLR would be one of my last choices for leverguns. Try the Henry Long Ranger instead.

Fooie on youie. I kinda like my very non-sensical BLR in 6.5 Creedmor. And after some trigger work my BL22 is stellar.

All that being said if I was buying one gun for hunting or more long range shooting I’d probably buy a bolt action Tikka or Bergara.

Edit - Fuquay Gun and Gold, Mace, Mid South etc all have some of what you are looking for. No different than any other guns. Just hit up some local gun shops.

Oh, and BLR mags are stupid expensive. I mean really stupid.

Family Firearms has been cheapest on a lot of things lately for me. The no tax to NC usually means even if you pay $20-30 shipping you still come out cheaper than anywhere else.
I've heard mixed reviews of Dahlonega Armory but they have good prices too.
For example. Howa 1500, Hogue stock. Standard model.

$531.91 at FF.

$481.06 at DA.

I picked up a Tikka T3 CTR in .308 as my long range/hunting choice a couple years back. I chose .308 because I figured if the world ended, I could probably find 308. Looking back, I may have chosen 6.5 Creedmor if I had to do it over.

With my Man Card in jeopardy, I had to put a brake on it to calm it down. It's so light that my shoulder turned purple trying to site it in. Now is shoots like a cream puff. My buddy's middle school daughter likes to shoot it.

CTR box magazines are expensive and have some feed issues. Just be aware before buying and do some research.

The only problem with a BLR is the trigger that should not be adjusted, for risk of light primer strikes. But there is no adjustment, so those that have been adjusted have been monkeyed with by gunsmiths or gunsmith wannabes. If you have a BLR with a good trigger and no light primer strikes, it's a keeper! (...if'n you can afford magazines)

The BL22 is a totally different animal, one of the best 22 rifles ever made.

My long range hunting rifle is a 1950 Higgins Model 50 30-06... an FN K98 Mauser action, chrome lined High Standard barrel and a Bishop stock. It was an affordable alternative to the High Falutin' rifle models of the '50s, and it turned out to be a really nice find for me!

My BLR trigger isn‘t competition caliber, but it is better than I expected. If my memory is correct it’s about 4 lbs and not gritty. Good enough for what I will use it for. I have a felt a few of those horribly infamous BLR triggers though. They are out there.

If accuracy is the primary concern - bolt action will always win.
Right now it is hard to buy a poor quality bolt gun, there are so many options. Bergara and Tikka are top of the line rifles.

New BLRs are fantastic rifles and offered in plenty of hunting calibers. Lots of Henry fans because people like to suggest what they own , and lots of people own a Henry. BLRs have always been a little harder to find. Lever guns are really cool options and if you aren’t planning on reaching way out there, but you will not ever see any lever gun in any type of accuracy competition match. I only mention this because maybe you might want to shoot some type of precision rifle match down the road ?

I do not know this seller and haven't seen the rifle, but if I was in your position I would start a dialog with this guy and see how it shakes out: Savage 110 / 6.5 Creedmore / Magpul Hunter

I have been ogling this ad since he put it up but I just can't justify it. I have a 6.5 gasser that hasn't been shot in months so yeah.

Certainly not a bad option. I think the rifle goes around 900ish.

The lever always got my juiced flowing bc I love my Henry 22lr and they're southpaw friendly. I never minded shooting a RH bolt gun, but I'm definitely faster with the LH variants which have always been hard to find.

Me an' others i know prefer chootin' a RH bolt gun lefty, over chootin' a LH bolt gun lefty... allows you to leave the trigger hand steady. Just hafta remember to keep yer left thumb unwrapped...

My BLR is a takedown .300 mag.
Quite accurate out to 300 yd with Accubonds. Got the trigger worked on by a BLR pro - it's decent but many aren't. Glad I have it not sure I'd get another.

Ed’s in Vass had three Tisas on the shelf. One .270, one 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor, and I didn’t catch the last one. Give him a call, he will fill you in.
My Bergara is the HMR Pro in .300 Win Mag. They have great triggers, adjustable stocks and they shoot nice groups. If you get a bigun, buy a good muzzle break😜

Oooh please dont get a muzzle brake . . . just get a good fitting rifle. Your range mates will thank you.
I'm not a huge guy by any means and even at my semi advanced age can handle 64 ksi .300 loads.
You aren't going to be going thru box after box of ammo in one session anyway . . .

I've done a lot of looking, and I think I may roll with the Bergara B-14 HMR in 6.5cm. - I haven't decided on glass for it yet, but am leaning towards the Viper PST Gen 2 5-25x.

Only downside I'm seeing is the weight of them.
That’s a good combination. You are correct the only downside I see is the weight. It’s a compromise really. To get great accuracy for one, two, or three shots at a time, with long breaks in between, a lighter thin profile will work.

However, when you start looking at shooting multiple shots or groups especially when the shots are close together really heating up the barrel, you need the heavier profile barrels to keep up good accuracy. Which adds a lot more weight to the rig.
