I have a savage mkII fvsr. I'd like to figure out what kind of ammo it shoots best. I want to get it dialed in so I can give the monthly challenge a try.

Wondering if there is a particular vendor I can order from where I can get one or two boxes of several different kinds at a reasonable price?

Also interested to hear which specific ones you guys recommend I try?

If anybody local to Pittsboro has a few boxes to sell that would be great. I tried rws rifle match and it didn't seam to shoot much better than the cci standard that I have. I haven't shot any SK or eley yet.

the junior high school gateway drugs of 22lr match grade ammo are Norma TAC-22 and Eley Club ... then when that doesn't get you smirking, you move to SK Standard Plus ... and the descent into abandon begins ... the kit from Eastwood is basically a private pharmacy

They also sell individual boxes of most of these. Heading there tomorrow.
SK long range and SK Standard both run well through my CZ 457.
 
I'd like to try the variety pack but I work all the same days that they are open ☹️

Hopefully I will make it there some day.

I appreciate that. I was kind of hoping to get down there in person just because I haven't been before. If I'm not able to I may take you up on that though.

I got a box of eley tenex and a box of eley match locally. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

It’s worth the drive if interested in Rimfire.
 
Lapua Midas+ is the most consistent rimfire ammo I've used....... and for what it costs it had better be.

I've only bought it from Blue Collar Reloading in Salisbury and Atlas Firearms in Winston Salem, call or email ahead of time. Sometimes they have it and sometimes they don't.
