My 17yo son works at a Town & Country Hardware (Ace affiliate) and I get his discount. I recently picked up a 3-blade Case XX just like I used carry at his age. He doesn’t get it though.

Thanks! I was thinking along those lines. Closer to me are Triangle Shooting Academy and Mace Sports, but I've never checked out their knife selections.
My daughter's tastes tend more towards simple or traditional vs modern / synthetic / tactical.
They sell off confinscated knives and multi tools from the airport I believe. Inventory is a bit on the low side right now but aught to be picking up soon. Good prices, sometime fire sale dirt cheap prices. They typically have Kershaw leeks for around $20-25, nice little knives that might fit the bill for what you looking for.
