Who’s CCWing a full-size .45

Horizontal for 3 to 3.5 inch barrels and vertical for anything longer. Want to get with Gunbelt when he gets going again. He has a vertical that also leans forward when released to make drawing faster and easier. Have one of his belt holsters that I wear when it’s in the open.

Let me know when those hit the market, I’ll buy one

I love this topic. We can‘t carry a full size 45 but we‘re going to repel tyranny and a commie invasion. I’m not young, or a tough guy but a 5” 1911 isn’t all that heavy. If most of us aren’t in good enough shape to carry them we aren‘t the men our grandfathers were, or the men we think we are.

I’m comfortable and dead accurate with my pistol, but the only reason the idea of getting a subcompact 9 comes into my head now and then is a question of weapon retention. Would a smaller, subcompact pistol be more advantageous in a close-quarters grapple/fistfight? Would weapon retention be better or worse?

I don't think it's a question of being capable. I think it's a question of belt sag. 😁

I carried an Officer's sized gun for a long time. That was about the same time I was carrying a revolver regularly.

Used to carry a G21 twice a week at my part-time job. Since I’m now working five days a week at that job, I carry a G21 more than I used to. 😎
Carried it ~14 hours on Monday, ~10 on Tuesday, and another 13 or so today. No concerns with the size or weight. (Also carry second mag every time)

I'll do ya one better. I've cc'ed my 6.5" barrel Smith and Wesson 500. Hip holster and a decent jacket does wonders.

Wouldn't recommend it though unless you're hiking. Unless you're worried about having to fight 4 or so bad guys that all politely stand in line to have a go at you.

Do love carrying my other full size guns when the opportunity allows. Usually in the winter.
