Who around would you recommend to thread a few 22 barrels?

A guy on the forum did a 10/22 barrel for me years ago...in fact, it wasn't THIS forum, but one of the precursor versions. For some reason, I always think it was @kcult (I don't know why) but the location was either Concord-ish or Rock Hill-ish. I can't remember for the life of me. Whomever it was was set up in his garage to do custom machining/milling. He had a tool chest full of barrels being worked on for customers. Did a great job on the very little "meat" available on the standard 10/22 barrel to thread it and get a flash hider on it. Charged me $40, I think.

EDIT: It was a user named K.Lee from Rock Hill (not KCult...too many "K" guys to keep track of!!!). He was just getting started with his own milling/machining/smithing company and cut me a huge break. Everyone was saying to expect $75-$125 for the threading. He did it for $40.

So after all that, I offer no help to you.

Kyle is a good guy and knows what he’s doing. If you can’t locate on forum check for Recoiljunkie.com That was a site that him and another member had. It was also on Facebook.

Rob at Clayton guns has done several for me. IIRC he charged me ~$70 and did a nice job.

You may think of me because I posted about a local machine shop cutting and threading the barrel for my 15-22.

I stopped by this shop randomly one day.
Takes to that guy for at least an hour. Was impressed by his place and what he does.

Send it to this guy.
If you ship the barrel and receiver minus the bolt and stock and trigger.
From time you ship it till time it’s back is about two weeks. he is off the hook good
Jim Pixley
JP Grips and machine.
I would post a web address but I’m not sure if the rules here and don’t want to ruffle feathers.
Just google the name above.
Most local guys claim to thread barrels but they really ship them out to be done and then add on a few over what they were charged.
Thank me later for telling you about JP grips and machine. Here’s a few he has done for me.
