Who remembers "Family Grams / MARS Grams?

Just reminiscing.
My buddy JT from Yongsan just passed away. Trying to remember the good times.

His brother used to send him the funniest stuff via Family Grams.
One story I remember was his younger brother came home pissy drunk and puked on the family dog.
The family grams were a max of 40 words.

I got one when I was in Germany before my new wife joined me, I had no idea what it was and thought it was bad news coming. It was a nice surprise.

My Lt got one on the birth of his children, two with dogs and one with out.

I used to send them all the time. It was free and I figured folks would get a kick out of them.

I wonder if they still do that for service members.

I used to send them when I was in Germany in the late 80’s, they were free vs the crazy price for phone calls!
