Meet Siddhanth Sharma. This is his mugshot in 2015.

And, another in 2015.

Guess what? ANOTHER in 2015!

Then, he got in trouble AGAIN in February 2017:

He got in trouble again August 1, 2017:

Then, on August 5, 2017, he stole three pistols from three different dealers, including me, at the Raleigh gun show. He was caught in the parking lot with the pistols in the trunk of his car, along with stolen ammo.

Here he is after that arrest:

At that point, he was 20 years old and already had THREE felony convictions. Just being at the gun show violated his parole, along with, as I understand it, bond terms for a FOURTH felony charge. The arresting officer told us he was going away for a long time. He was supposedly being held in custody with no bond.

But...WAIT! THERE'S MORE! The very next month, September 2017, he was caught AGAIN at the Raleigh military gun show. What was he doing? Stealing another pistol! Is anyone surprised?

Here is that glorious mug shot:

Since August 2017, I have been receiving victims' update letters on his August 2017 case from the Wake County DA's office. Just about every month, I get a letter telling me his case has, yet again, been continued. I was promised I would be notified when he was released. Can you imagine my surprise when he was caught this weekend at the Raleigh gun show stealing guns again? I can't confirm the details yet, but I was told he was caught after stealing four guns on Saturday at the show.

WAKE COUNTY MEMBERS: is this how utterly ineffective your DA, N. Lorrin Freeman is? Her campaign website states:

"Lorrinā€™s first term as District Attorney has been characterized by a drive to ensure that those who violate the law are held accountable, because she understands that a safe community is foundational to our good quality of life."

I don't know if your just have an absolutely crappy DA, or if NC's criminal justice system is so badly screwed up that a guy can be arrested this many times for this many felonies and STILL get out on bail, all the while totally dodging having his cases tried. Or, maybe it is both.

I have a call in to the DA's office now. Not that I think they are going to care what a crime victim who can't vote for or against their DA has to say, but I'm going to make my displeasure heard. Why are the rights of the hard working citizens, who actually pay the salaries of the court system employees, and their power bills, and their rent, and everything else, not considered over the low life habitual felons who are simply leeches on society?

If you can't tell, I'm ticked.

That is total BS. I think you should try to make this as public as possible. Social media local papers, tv etc... What a bunch of you know what!

One would think that in the case of a habitual gun thief like this guy, that bond shouldn't be offered. Anyone want to take bets on what he will do if he is released yet again while waiting for his now multiple trials? There is another show in Raleigh in July....

There are only a few charges that can be held without bond. The Magistrates should have set these bonds higher imo. There was a state law, that only lasted about a year, that anyone arrested while out on bond had to have the bond on the new charges double the active bond. This caused some problems statewide and there were probably some police agencies that abused it.
The problem is that this offender will not likely to be eligible for habitual status for a while.

As to a habitual gun thief I think that would fall under "common sense" gun control. The problem is that habitual charges are based on convictions not charges.

It would seem, that with all those arrests, his home address should be listed somewhere.
Perhaps that information would be interesting to some folks.

@cubrock

Are all these stolen pistols still setting in an evidence locker awaiting trial or were they returned to the dealers once recovered?

They were returned to dealers since they were recovered at the scene. At least the ones to which I am privy.

Another note - he uses his girlfriend to distract the dealer while he cuts a gun loose and takes it. I am not aware that she has ever been caught, though I have seen her with him multiple times. Prior to August 2017 when he stole a pistol from me, he would stop at my table and talk to me while at shows. Not sure when he started stealing pistols, but he was a regular at Raleigh shows for a couple years prior.

Next time make a BIG production of taking his and her photo and let everyone around you know why the photo is being taken.

The dealers should ask the event promoter to file trespass on him if he shows up again.

This is an outrage.

Do you mind if I share the post? Figure it would go well on another board and fb group.

Wonder how he is getting them outside, they had metal detectors at entrance and the exit.

Gee, wonder what he is doing in between gun shows. My money says he is not hard at work or studying somewhere. Wonder if he is gang affiliated and stealing guns is his job or something.

You'd think that getting arrested while out on bond would be cause to revocate the first bond and keep his ass in jail pending trial. But that's just me.

Sneaked out a side door when he stole from me. They caught him on camera doing it.
Yeah, the one time I bought a couple guns from Jerek, they had colored dots on the boxes plus the invoice was checked at the exit.

They are lax in checking....
I walked right through, female officer was in a yawn or something.. both pieces i had in my hands had the dots...

Find him.

Kick his ass.
Unfortunately, methinks us normal white dudes with something to lose would get in a lot more trouble than this turd and his ump-teen felonies. Excuse me, accused felonies.
