Why it is hard to trust the US criminal "justice" system - Wake Co. take note

Wonder how he is getting them outside, they had metal detectors at entrance and the exit.
The metal detector at the exit was off. When leaving I asked the officer if I needed to empty my pockets and he said no. I walked through with my leatherman and a $5 knife pen from the show, and it didn't register. If I had a gun in my pocket or waistband, I'm guessing it would have gone undetected.
They *did* check for the blue dot stickers on the pistols I bought from @knifeman32 via @cubrock . Thanks again @cubrock for doing that, and nice to meet you in person! My youngest daughter has not stopped talking about your daughter since. :)

The other day, I was passing through Havelock (or somewhere near there, coming back from beach), and there was a woman outside a gun store, holding a sign that read "Caught Shoplifting At <Name of Gunshop>". I guess the owner gave her a choice of public shame or dealing with the po-po.

My daughter had a blast with your girls. I'll let you know if she is going to make the next show.

I will keep an eye out case he heads my way.

Didn't even think of that. Silly me. That is a wise course of action, but I bet it is harder for him to steal from shops than at shows.

Get a couple pipehitters to watch for him and if he pulls the same stunt again, drag his ass into the restroom and mash his sticky, little fingers with a 20 oz ball pein hammer....

Bet that'd give him a moment of pause and wipe the smirk from his face.

Are you starting to notice a pattern yet?

If you want something done about <fill in the blank> people need to roll up their sleeves and do something about it instead of waiting for “government”.

The “legal” system is an illegitimate joke.

There was a member of the crew aboard my ship back in '96 who was caught thieving.
He went to court martial with his right hand in a cast up to his elbow.

First off, you guys are acting like this is unusual or something. To a cop or DA, it's nothing more than a shoplifting regardless of what the law says. Second, this has been going on for a very long time.

In my case, I was carjacked, shot and left for dead on the side of the road. Perp was caught in FL with my car. He was apprehended after a high speed chase while he and a compadre were chucking weed out the windows as fast as they could. Well... John Law did his job in FL, found the car reported stolen in NC and what had happened in this state. He was extradited to stand trial for grand theft and attempted murder. He got a hanging judge for the trial and the jury was out only 1hr. Sentence was mandatory 40yrs >WITHOUT< parole. By all methods of timekeeping, if they had meant what they said, he'd still be in Central Prison but they let him out on parole 15yrs in. FL got him then for the dope case where he served another 5, I don't know the actual sentence there. So in total, he should have been in the clink for more than 40yrs if sentences meant anything.

I found out that he had been released on parole from FL prison three weeks after the event. I got a letter from the FL parole board asking my input for parole and that the hearing was scheduled for a certain date. Only problem, that date was 4 weeks prior to my getting the letter. After a rather pointed call to a parole officer in FL, I found that karma is indeed quite the bitch. The perp got out of prison, had to catch up on a lot of partying and partook of way too much of the latest designer drugs and had a massive overdose. Said overdose left him in a permanent vegetative state with nurse Ratchet changing his diapers at the behest of the state of FL. That was 20yr ago, what are the odds that he's still around? I'd bet pretty darn slim.

Point is, this is NOTHING new. Until we rise up and demand that sentences be carried out, the crooks will just keep being crooks.

Why charge an individual with multiple crimes when they get a plea deal for lesser crime(s) and serve concurrent sentences, months not years,
out on early release as Dave951 reported.
Time for CONSECUTIVE sentencing, serve the entire sentence.

The case in the op is about gun theft by a felon, not like he it taking an Iphone or a Dewalt drill kit.

Dang.

In my case, I asked the parole officer why it took them 6 weeks to catch up with me. That was 3 weeks prior to the hearing and 3 weeks after. His reply- I wasn't that easy to find. Now true, I was keeping a bit of a low profile cause my wife was worried he would come back but it's not like I went completely off grid and dark. I was a bit miffed at the officer and asked that had "I" killed someone I bet they would have looked a lot harder :). He laughed a bit and admitted I was right.

What you need to take away from my case and the one from the OP, the cops are NOT there to protect you nor your property. They are only there as a glorified report writer. As a victim, you just don't count for much in the scheme of things as far as they're concerned. Your name and info will just be a blank they fill out in a report. After they're done, most of them just end their shift and go home and really don't care too much about you as a victim. Maybe I sound a bit harsh in regards to the LEO community but you guys seriously examine what you do in the current system and you cannot help come to any other conclusion if you are being completely intellectually honest. Now couple the way the system is currently configured along with the SC decision Warren v DC and the way the SJWs are playing the role of useful idiot to the hilt and is it so difficult to see why many who have red pilled see the system as a joke as far as justice is concerned. Add to that they want to take away my right to defend myself when the LEOs aren't obligated to............ and determine your own comfort level.
