Why was my post deleted? from last night?

Ok so are you doing that for all linked media from here on out or is it because I was a sponsor?

Many people link to many sites from CFF.

Why is my linking unique?

John

Its because it was linked to a site that sells training and firearms. Had nothing to do with the past

Im glad you bring this up, he is a Sponsor and I haven't hit the button yet.

John. Appleseed is a non profit organization that contacted us first and asked if it would be Ok. We made the decision as owners to allow them to post because of that. They are not selling a product and the fee they charge is direct cost. And they are a sponsor.

Your post was deleted because you are not currently a vendor or sponsor. It isn’t just a media outlet it is a site that sells your goods and services.

We try to delete links to sites that are selling goods and services that aren’t vendors to be fair to the ones that are.

No animosity or offense was intended in the action although it appears it was taken.

The information within was good and as John said if you’d like to directly post it instead of just a link that would be welcomed.
Ok I can live with that I guess.

How about this post then?

https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.c...seed-events-in-north-carolina-for-2017.15898/

You have a link to a training company. seems to be fine. right? but mine No?

Got it.

Sponsorship is the key. Not the flow of quality information. Same situation as CSC, and the same complaint.

Since I posted a link on my blog the post is killed. No matter the value or lack of to the membership of CFF.

I could post my poorly typed info on this site with no link. But the ownership changes hands.

I see how it ran and the unique situation this places you guys in less then a years time.

Thanks

The rules have been in place since day 1. This is how we do our best to take care of those who sign up and pay to be vendors and sponsors, if it gets reported then we take a look. In this case, you asked to be removed from being a sponsor, which we obliged. Then there is a link posted to the website, in which offers training and firearms parts for sale from your business. Therefore, in my eyes, that violates our policy and action was taken. Once again you are more than welcome to start a thread and post your thoughts on the situation. We have no interest in taking claim to what information you post in there. I dont think its fair to say that we are all about the sponsorship and not about spreading good information. If that classifies me as being the same as the CSC owner then so be it. You are taking care of your business and I am taking care of mine.

Amigo, you need a vacation.

I had hoped we were beyond the BS from a few weeks ago.

I was looking forward, last night, to reading that thread. And when I refreshed the page (I had opened the tab in the morning, but no time to read it so just left it opened for later) it was gone. I figured too much drama in the thread/arguing or a very COLORFUL comment had been made to ruin it.

Now I see why and I can respect that.
We need to understand that there are rules, and these guys are keeping it fair for the folks who are helping to pay to to keep the lights on.

Ok got it.

Will CFF restrict posts from other sites then? I can point out posts from the NRA, PSA, and so forth that are in the same boat as the one I did.

I get the rules are the rules. And I am fine with that.

My main point is how even handed is this rule really in forced? Or is it more that from past history I have with the group?

I bet today you guys can find a post from a retail outlet or a blog post.

John

I don't see where it matters, it's a private forum. It doesn't need to meet any constitutional standards.

If I come to your house and you ask me to leave my sidearm in the truck, that's your right. And it would be my right to not enter your home.

Why dont you take me up on my offer to start a new thread?

Glad to see that you guys discussed this and the mods didn't just flat out ban you like the asswipe smokewagon over at taurusarmed.net did to me. There was a need for a part for taurus, I filled it. I posted an ebay link to it, he said you can't a link in that sections it has to be in the for sale. I post it there as directed. He says I can't sell here after I post it where he tells me. I say ok. I make another post just saying if anyone is looking for this now available part you can find it on ebay. Nothing more. I was trying to offer something that people were not getting from Taurus. Immediately he bans me. He is a dick.

It has absolutely 0% to do with you past here.

Why dont you take me up on my offer to start a new thread?

Butter explained why it was deleted.

Just like when you would report posts of the exact same type and ask if they were sponsors, we would either delete it or ask the OP to post some content rather than just a link to a site that competes with other sponsors and vendors.

I don't understand why you are saying we're being selective when this is precisely the way we have done things when posts get reported (just as you have done) when you wanted us watching out for you as well.

Just post your content, as butter said multiple times, instead of just the link. Seems like a really easy fix instead of trying to make us out to be the bad guy when we're doing the same thing you've asked of us in the past.

I'd like to file a complaint, that I don't have anything to complain about.
Well, then pick a post that you don't have an issue with, hit Report, and compliment how thoughtful the post is. You can use this one if you so choose. :D

So, somebody else could post a link to it, just not John? We post links to firearm stuff for sale all the time, and to web sites with firearm stuff for sale.

John was doing a service here, not advertising.

As I said in my post earlier. Instead of just posting a link why not just post a little content with the link to the rest, I'm not sure why that's a problem. Just like when people post content they need to post a source if they're just copying and pasting an article.

It's a net advantage to both parties that way instead of just a hey come read my blog post on my site.

I disagree. He stated long ago he no longer wanted to be associated with this site, then out of the blue there is a link to the website. Posting a thread on a forum in which you call members cop bashers then going back to said forum and posting a link where you can buy products from him doesnt set well here
