Wilson Combat EDC X9.

I know at least two guys with this on their "to do" list. One already carries a Wilson, and the other one shoots them at matches like it's just workhorse.

Been wanting one of them myself. I want to hold one and make sure I pick the size grip insert and trigger length. But first and most importantly that I like the feel of it before I drop that much on a gun!

I like it but my CZ Custom Protek does about the same thing for a lot less $. And the SA on my CZ is probably as the Wilson.

I've never shot a cz. I know Butter shoots them competitively, I think... I have shot the Herons Tanfoglio, which is like a CZ? Really well made pistol. Enjoyed shooting it. And also talking smack to the Heron about why 1911s are better. Hahahahaha

I'm not sure if I like my CZ's or 1911's better. They are different since one is DA/SA and the other pure SA. But CZ's with CGW or CZ Custom action jobs are sure nice. My Protek has a SA pull about 3.5 lbs and very crisp. I guess they are like kids. They are different, but both very good. And if I had the cash to buy my first Wilson right now I'd want it in 45, but that's just me.

There's certainly a lot of hoopla around Wilson's new EDC X9. I am interested in one, but will wait to see the consensus on them once they're out in the market in larger numbers.

CZ Customs are sweet pistols--have an Accu Shadow that's great.

@CZfool68 -- isn't the Pro Tek around $2,000?

Think mine was about $1600. Not cheap, but a long way from a $3k Wilson. It has about a 3.5 lb SA and a smooth 8lb DA. Guess the trigger could be improved on somehow, but for a defensive gun it is about perfect. Heinie Straight 8 night sights too. I'd take it over the Wilson for that price difference all day.

Can get the Wilson EDC X9 out-the-door for $2,695.

For a defensive pistol with great trigger, accuracy, and reliability--the Sphinx SDP is hard to beat for around $900 (a lot cheaper than the Wilson or CZ Custom).;)

@Stentor where you finding the Wilson EDC X9 out the door for 2,695?

For a $1k difference I'd stick with the CZ. I'd love to have a Wilson budget though. Someday I may grab one. I've heard good things about the Sphinx but never fondled one.

That is an awesome pistol, but I second the CZ alternatives, like my SP-01 Tactical with the CGW trigger work.
