Very little info out there about real world use of these knives. Seems most people that have just set them on display. I did see that one of our members have one and I have my eye on one now as well after spending a few minutes with several models at Mast in Valle Crusis.

I’m a sucker for Boker knives and just picked up a Gemini VG10 assisted while I was at Mast to replace a similar one I lost hunting a few years ago. But woe is my heart as I can’t stop thinking about the WK Blue Ridge Hunter with micarta handle that I ever so gently fondled. I’m not a collector, per se, as I do have quite a few decent folders and even less fixed blades, but they all see work and some get really beat on.

This line of WK knives are stock removed, not forged. Great balance. Great feel. At $325 for an NC-made piece of steel, am I crazy for even considering buying one and planning to put it to hard use?

No you are not crazy to consider it. Dan and Karen are good people out of Boone. His knives are made for hard use. I think the majority of his knives are bought by folks in the armed forces, to use. I have considered buying one of his knives several times, but seem to always find a knife that I like better when I have the money. I have never heard anyone complain about his knives and I would not hesitate to purchase one if I found the right one.

GL Drew out of Asheville is another NC knife maker that makes custom knives with reasonable prices. He does stock removal as well as forging and making his own damascus. I don't think he has a website and mostly sells via instagram or blade forums. I'm waiting on one of his custom hunters to be delivered any day now, pics below. I tried to get one of his hunters for several months, but they were always sold before I get to them.

7.5" overall length, 3.5" blade of 52100 stock removal with ambrosia maple handle and oiled leather sheath for $95 delivered.

Buy it and use it! My favorite EDC knife is my Everycarry. Great size to carry around. Here it is next to my Blue Ridge Hunter.

The knife shop at Mast in Valle Crucis is a dangerous place...

I have an everycarry I have, hopefully, temporarily misplaced. Pretty sure it’s in one of my day packs up in the mountains but haven’t been up there since thanksgiving. Dan and Karen are nice people. I met and have talked with them several times at my favorite watering hole in Blowing Rock.
