Winston Salem Gun “Buy Back”

Would they give money for just a lower? I doubt it. Wouldn’t even know what it was.
i dunno, but $200 for an anderson i only paid $50 for seems like a good deal. If it helps, I'll tear down some AR pistols I already have built up. I'll lose that $30 lpk if it helps them say "yes"

Why can't I have one of these locally? I've got my 1 shot 22lr that's been broken, just waiting for one of these. I couldn't get 20 bucks from it at FG&G, so 100 bucks sounds sweet! I could surely super glue the broken piece, back in place. Not like they'd know.

I didn't even bother with my titan .38 revolver. I bought it at one buyback where they were offering $25 for nonfiring guns, and the kid i bought it from was... i dont' think it was a legal gun because he would rather sell it to me for cash with a record of his name and signature than he would sell it to police at a no-questions-asked buyback.
The firing pin was gone, and i didn't want to bother spending money to get it working, so i sold it at the next buyback for $50 where they didn't even look to see if it was functioning.

I think this is common, they just destroy them, doubt that they even run them.

Besides, can’t I as a buyer do the same? Don’t really need to know anything about the seller. Assuming not an NFA item.
I am not in the business of trying to solve crimes the way LEO are supposed to be.

“Guns must be in car trunk and an officer will safely remove it from the vehicle”

So is this considered conceal carry?

They've done it before. Article in the local paper today:

Paper says it was last done in 2014 - included a photo:

have your favorite lawyer on speed dial.
doesn't matter if what you're doing is legal... some of the cops likely will take exception

true is city police if it was the county but of course county police won't do this crap only city police have to suck up to the chief and that term is used very loosely if you catch my drift lol

Sad thing is they sometimes get really nice old guns that somebody's great grandfather had and they're worth 10 to 15 times what is paid for them and the liberals selling them have no ideal. Then they are just destroyed. Truth is the police know who the gang bangers and drug dealers are in Winston and those guys won't be standing in line to turn in guns. It's really more of a political move for the police department in a democrapicly controlled city!

Who pays for this? The taxpayers of Winston-Salem?
Always the taxpayer in the end. I believe this is federal funds they're allocating. Not gonna dig thru the emails.

I always wonder if DVs spike after these for kids, wives/gfs selling things that aren't theirs.

Saw on WXII that the $50,000 came from Fed COVID relief funds. I was in line at the buy back. Traffic was lined up in both directions. In one hour, I moved about 10 car lengths and determined that I would not get to the drop off by closing time. Pulling out of line and started going car to car. It was all busted up, rusted, pieces of crap that people had to turn in.

So by the time I got there with my old Rossi and beat to hell Buckmark, they were closing up early. Cop at the entrance said they ran out of money. Told me people started lining up an hour and a half before they started. Also said one guy brought forty guns. I was surprised to say the least.

My CVA Sharpshooter is now up for sale. Excellent condition except for rust in bore, head on breach plug broken off, charge or obstruction in barrel, and minor scuff on stock. Very low round count. Oh almost forgot, this rifle is sub MOA (if I do my part, which has never happened). Funding another project. Low balls will be ignored.

I’d love to see photos of what our tax dollars bought. I’ll bet there were few, if any, weapons that could really represent a threat on the streets.

I am going to have restart magnet fishing off highway bridges again.

Had found some good stuff rusted all to heck.

Wonder what 1 or 2 treasures “found in Grandpa’s closet” turned up among all the crap? I’d hate to think an old double one lever gun got sacrificed … unless one of the LEO’s working it some how ”transferred” ownership to himself.

But not the same COVID we think of. These are tax dollars officially dedicated to Come On Vote In Democrats. 🤬
