Hey guys,

The Winston Salem Gun Show is this weekend (10/28 and 10/29). We will be there at the Backwoods Bang Shop booth. Drop by and see us!

Who else is going?

We will see you there!

I'll have a table set up.
No fancy banners, just a black tablecloth full of shirts and stickers and a really handsome man behind it.

We'll be the judge of that. We'll start a poll post - "How handsome is HMP?"

Usually a good show, but I've got to get some stuff done around the house. Hopefully, some yard work, if the weather holds. Enjoy folks. Probably see you in Hickory.

I'm trapped in Serb-urb-ia. :(

Well, he didn't say he'd be the one at the table. :D

Do you sell HK? Like, do you ever stock the SP5K? I'd love to see one in person and start talking price etc

Im tired of you teasing everyone …. "Drop by and see us" means….you can see me covered up with bizness, but I wont have time to talk to you. So, literally…"Drop by and look at me at my booth" :)

Just finished getting all of the shirts rolled up and marked (I used a cheap masking tape to keep them tight and can mark size and logo on outside of that...always making sure the tape is doubled where I mark to KNOW there is no bleed through).
And I counted up all of my inventory and got my 'system' created for keeping track as the day goes on etc.

Im exhausted. Look forward to meeting some of yall this weekend!

I'm going to try to go Saturday. When's the less crowded times of the day?
Dave

To avoid crowds, try to be there between 9 and 5. :D

Here now. No crowd. Really nice. HMP is selling t shirts on the right hand side ( great colors) and cubrock is on the right back corner. He's got a really nice collection.

OK. Have to give Jerek props. He actually had a conversation with me today. Had to make his pregnant wife do all the work.... But he talked to me. Last gun show I saw her at she was pregnant.... She's been pregnant like 2 years now. Kid will come out in 2nd grade or something. :)

I bought bore snakes, 2 shirts, a Lapula magazine loader I’m not optimistic about, and some WW2 blue rays movies.

GRNC had quite a lovely day.

I was disappointed the folks from Ground Zero Ballistics weren’t there this show... they had great targets to shoot at.

There was a new guy but his target was $400 to GZB’s $200... :(

If you're looking for fancy plates and hanging contraptions, I can't help. But, if you need just simple plates of various shapes and dimensions, I've had very good luck buying them online. I'll be happy to share my source if anybody needs it.

Not using an Uplula to load is like not using a fork to eat. ;)

I have more time now before I jump in the shower

Yesterday was good but long.
I started the day by going to see Jerek while he and his wife were still setting up...I knew I wouldnt have another chance with him being busy all of the time.
Seriously nice guy and always has been.

Was really cool meeting Cub, Sneaky, and Invisible ( I hope Im not forgetting somone!!!!), just putting a face with a name and further solidifying what Ive said for a while - folks on here are fantastic.

Got to see a handful of folks that I knew already (not on here), that was nice.

But I saw that doing a gun show is a LONG day.
By yourself means you cant leave, no walking around.

I also learned how unprepared I was.
Like today - I'll run out of business cards. I didnt think I'd need many but ended up giving a lot away yesterday.
Also, next time, I'll have a banner/poster too, as many, on first glance, did not notice what my NC shirt was, just knew it was outline of NC.

I think I got enough yesterday to pay for my table, which is nice. We'll see how today goes.

And I heard some folks complaining about Jerek/Backwoods yesterday...a particular shop that didnt sell much at all but knows how busy J and his wife always are

Well it was a good day for GRNC, and for me personally..

I got a new belt, new gun cleaner solvent, shirts and jewelry for mom. :)

As they were closing, one vendor caught some punks trying to shoplift a Vortex optic. I wish they’d have let me take my new belt to him... I loathe thieves... we don’t have an anger emoticon strong enough to voice my displeasure with them...

Folks if you want to be a vendor and have stuff to sell, you need two people minimum.

You can go ahead and buy it, I'm looking for a PCR.

One vendor there had one PCR. I almost bought it, though I have no real use for it other than it is cool. Finally figured I'd just wait and if I still want one down the road, I'll get on Backwoods Bang Shop's waiting list.

How much were they asking for it?

$540 OTD. I don't know if they sold it. It was still there this morning when I looked at it again before the show opened. When I glanced that way this afternoon, the table their pistols were on was definitely more empty than when the day started. It looked like it was gone, but they could have moved things around.

What a great weekend, Sunday was far busier (for me, at least) than Saturday.
But I did run out of cards, so I resorted to handwriting notes. Some serious, some silly. But it was fun.

Learned a lot this weekend about shows, and look forward to the next WS one in a month

Oh, and I heard more trash talking of Jerek yesterday lol
Other vendors (this one, seriously, just a jerk to his customers) complaining they arent getting business.

So check this, as it was slow in our area on Saturday I asked about a particular gun, seeing if they had one there. They didnt but the owner said they could get one, so I asked for a price.
Well I'd already asked Jerek about this and he replied to my PM last night.
...
...
get ready for it
...
...
no, really, get ready...

Jerek was 2/3rds the price the other guy was.
I dont want to post numbers here, not my business to do that. But he was 2/3 the price of the guy that, for some reason, cant move any firearms. I wonder why...

A Glock is a Glock. There aren't alot of variables to change to make a sale. Price and attitude sells guns.

I did see Village Pawn and Gun put a few of the extras on their stock guns to help move them. Extended this and that. Good little upgrades for not much money. I wondered if that ploy would sell a few more. THAT is a way to " change" a Glock. I might lean toward paying a few bucks extra for that up front.

All, about creative marketing.

I like to see forum members take chances and do well on their own. That entrepreneural spirit is healthy for the forum and the members.
