In AZ,

A woman who has been in a coma for 10 years gives birth! Authorities obtained search warrants to obtain DNA from every male employee that works there.
Besides the rape, as she couldn't consent if she's in a vegatative state, can you imagine coming OUT of the coma and all of a sudden you have a kid. The woman is 29.

Sad

Just heard about this on the radio and came to post if it hadn’t already been.

This is beyond disgusting, absolutely repulsive!! I can’t imagine what kind of sick, twisted, sorry excuse for a man would rape a woman in this state. I hope he is murdered via the most cruel and unusual means imaginable.

In my opinion he should be hung upside down over a large bed of hot coals till his head pops or he slow roasts.

Or cremated alive.

While having adrenaline pumped into him to keep him from passing out and being intermittently sprayed with a burning acid.

Sooo much wrong in this situation... There are a lot of people whp need to be held accountable for this.

That seems to lead one to believe that the care leaves a lot to be desired.

Exactly.

It's unlikely she is a very large person given that she's been comatose for 10 years. One can imagine the swelling should have been apparent.

Unfortunately, we don't have a justice system anymore to properly punish whoever he is. Here's to hoping for some street justice or prison justice!!!

What if the perp isn't working there any longer and no one knows where he went?? Guy could go unpunished and possibly repeat, this probably isn't his first strike....

Given turnover rates in long term care I would not be surprised.

See Post # 6 Wrapped in wet cowhide and tied and staked with wet leather and left in the sun to die

While I agree this is an abhorrent crime, ou are all ignoring mandatory DNA samples from innocent people that the police have absolutely no evidence against. This could have been anyone with access to the facility. A visitor, another patient, a tresspasser. If someone gets shot, the same logic suggests the police collect and test every firearm in the area, no need for any evidence.

I remember a whole lot of folks losing their minds over mandatory submission of a fired cartridge case when you buy a new firearm in a whole other state, but putting a whole mess of innocent men in the DNA database forever gets nary a notice. Or are we doing the "better a dozen innocent men are tried than a guilty man go free" here now?

There are definitely a good number of criteria for narrowing the possible suspects down to the minimum necessary for determination. Going backwards from the 9 month gestational period to the conceptional window of opportunity, employee timekeeping records, visitor records, possibly video surveillance, etc.

Dang, that's a good one. I hadn't thought of that at all.

This was my thought as well. They will be taking DNA samples from a lot of innocent men, and those samples will be kept in criminal databases, without these guy's consent.

I absolutely think the perp needs to be caught and punished. But I don't think infringing on the rights of people who have no evidence against them is the way to do it.

Girl was Apache... He better hope they don't find him and drag him to the rez... He'll wish he was caught and castrated by the cops...

Without trying to sound insensitive, how big is this woman that no one noticed she was pregnant?

Comatose for 10 years, I'd imagine she wasn't very big. NG tube/G-tube and IV doesn't exactly make you obese.
