I replaced the adjustable carbine stock on my AR10 with a fixed Magpul rifle stock.
But I kept the carbine buffer spring, and changed out the buffer tube to rifle length and added a spring spacer. Now the bolt won't lock back on the last round, and when you lock the bolt open by hand..as soon as you drop the mag the bolt closes on it's own.
The rifle worked fine with the same mags until I fudged with the stock. It still works fine as far as cycling and all that, just won't lock back, and dropping the mag/bolt closing issue bothers me.
Do I need to crap-can the carbine spring and spacer and go with a rifle length spring? When I did this conversion I consulted with the techs at Brownells and they steered me to the tube and spacer to use with the carbine spring.
Today was the first day I had a chance to run it after doing the stock mods, and I dialed it in.
That part went well. 100 yards w/front rest-
